Can We Convert Old World Event Currency To Others?

As the titles suggests... I noticed on the PTS. that we can obtain old currency by converting the 'new' world events tokens.. but im wondering if we can convert the old ones.. ie. Snowflakes and such.. into other world event currencies ?

As far as I know though, I don't think you can currently convert Event currency.

looks like ill have to do alot of farming/grinding to be able to convert this new world currency into the old one.. blah! i have 5000 snowflakes i would like to convert!!

I too have an excess of a few currencies that I acquired by doing the old events, and would love to be able to exchange them for the new event currency (five old for one new, perhaps.) This event is giving new players a chance to put in effort now to get items offered in the past, so why can't past efforts be used for new rewards? Its not like I would be getting anything for "free" just making use of otherwise useless currencies that I put the time in to earn.


I did some searching before posting and this isn't the first time the idea has been suggested but i couldn't find any type of response to it. I even found a post dating back to June, 2011 that had no replies at all.

Yes, I know I can still buy stuff off the world event merchant, but some of us simply don`t have enough or have odd numbers of eggshells/death tokens left over to do anything with them.

Sure, I could destroy them, but I spent time getting them so why should I be forced to do this?

Trion has implemented trading in your old blue and purple shards for planerite from lower level zones, why can this not be done with the world currencies?

Or, and I really hate to use *that* game as an example, just convert any leftovers you have into flat cash/planerite?

Or even just make them tradeable, so you have another economy from people during world events who are willing to spend the plat instead of the time to pick up whatever world event item they want?

I love the idea that we can convert beads into older world event currencies, but I would still like to be able to change them. I have a few hundred magma opals I would like to trade for the coins or the snowflakes...

Please, please, please allow us to trade in old currencies!

I'd even settle for a 5 to 1 ratio. Something, anything, to make me feel like it was worth keeping what I got for past participation.

I've been begging for this for a long time.

We got HALF the equation with this patch as you pointed out, but doesn't seem to go the other way. I basically have given up and went back and bought a bunch of "old currency" and bought old stuff that I already had for my 6th character (who wasn't around for most of the other past events).

I'd have much rather converted all the old currencies to the new "beads" that way I won't have to grind as much.

I just hope, for other peoples sake, that they FINISH the job they started, and when this event is over, KEEP the NPC around all the time as a full time currency exchanger.

Maybe an idea would be to make this event drop something at an insane rate, from like anything you do. And allow us to trade it in for any of the old currencies?

That would actually give a reason to do the events if you wanted the old currencies. The usual reasons of rare drops brought about such tears that the mounts are again given and you only need participate for a few mins once each week.

Seriously though, the event will get you as much currency as you want, surplus currencies are a non factor.

And this is coming from someone with not a single OSS and ~30k snowflakes.

I agree, I think being able to convert currencies back and forth would add some welcome flexibility. That being said, I appreciate very much the ability to convert beads into the older currencies! I will be taking full advantage! My newer characters thank you, Trion.

It's almost as if this event got half way towards a good idea, and then fell over and pooped itself...

Nobody wants loads and loads of legacy currencies in their bank. And I'm sure nobody wants to trivilaise new events by being able to pre-farm currency. and this latest patch has made it clear that missing out on a particular event should be no barrier to obtaining the items fro it. So why can we not just change all our "old" currencies into one universal "old" currency, and farm the "new" curency for the current event? That way, people who want to get stuff immediately can, and people who want to wait until the event is over can still use up their odd amounts of currency that weren't enough to buy anything with at the time.
