Default What happened to the exchange rate?!

1 Inscribed = 500 planarite (at the shimmersand vendor)
    15,000 = 1 Inscribed Sourcestone (Sanctum Vendor)

    What happened???

Trion considers Inscribed much more valuable then planarite...which...they...are...?

    I'm confused by the question.

Dont think they are that valuable is theyre only worth 500 planarite at shimmersand, but 15k at sanctum. Theres nothing confusing about it, the exchange rate is awful.

I dont see the problem really, if they had the same exchange rate then they might aswell be the same currency. This system is in place to discourage trading between the two, but allow it as an option if you really need a few extra inscribed or planarite.

Sounds right to me. The intent is that if you somehow end up with a huge excess of inscribed sourcestone, you can convert them, but it's not easy to convert planarite to IS. But possible if you really do have too much planarite.
You can play WoW in any MMO. You don't have to play WoW in RIFT. Oh, and no, RIFT is not a WoW clone. Not having fun any more? Learn to play, noob! I don't speak for Riftui, but I moderate stuff there. Got ideas for improving the RIFT community? Feel free to PM me. Just came back? Welcome back! Here's what's changed.

Lets say I have 500 loaves of bread but only 10 slices of ham.

I really want more ham and I don't really want more loaves of bread.
If you came to me with 10 slices of Ham i'd happily trade you 100 loaves of bread for them.

If someone else had loaves of bread and was looking for ham, I would trade them my ham but I would need at least 1000 loaves of bread to make it worth it.

    <<Heres the math>>

    24k planarite = 100,000 PA-EXP @ sanctum vendor

    20 Inscribed = 100,000 PA-EXP @ sanctum vendor

    300k planarite = 20 Inscribed @ sanctum vendor

    20 Inscribed = 10k planarite @ shimmersand vendor

So with the numbers crunched, lets chat?

So yes i can understand that Inscribed Sourcestones are "valuable" but how truely valuable are they?
To an end-game raider with sigils complete, gear to the near max, and nothing to do with the mass amounts of planarite we have its something and better then nothing. Which is where this exchange system is based around

But for the gamer with an alt, or a fresh character, this is not the system for him/her is what im saying. Yeah the rate of "mass invasions" is nice on high pop servers and bad on low pop servers. But its still takes ALOT of time for a new player to get say the planar conq/vanq gear, weapons. Let alone dungeon farming for weeks to get the items you still need and the plat to aquire crafted gear.

Basicly what im saying is they built this vendors system primarily around the end-game raiders/players benfit, not to the whole rift community.

You don't get planerite for raiding, but yes this is designed to give people with max planerite something, they can use, to spend it on.

By design, the most effective way to gear your alt is to play your alt.

Yes but with a job, and things to do in life. I have to put more time on my mage 5 hrs a days to my rogues, 1-2 hours a day.

Dont get me wrong, its my opinion but the system can be really harsh or unfair to some players but not all, thats the point im trying to get to.

Im all for not nerfing bosses and stuff, but theyre should be a decent system for undergeared/fresh players tone it down just a hair with the rates. Just to make things a little fair for all players.

If say this was maybe 2-3 years ago I would be like FRICK YEAH, i dont care. But with maturity, growing up and stuff, i no longer have that mind set

Well its something i asked for previously so its nice to see it happened.

However I am hoping there is a software mistake with the "1" or the extra "0" digit

Which is possibly feasible (I say in wild hope -

So here is what I propose. All end game raiders should pay a planar tax which is to be distributed to the less geared/more unfortunate players so that the system is fair for everyone /endsarcasm.

Did I really see someone who plays 7 hours a day saying he has time constraints?

So on a good day your playing seven hours ? Damn, I wish I had that kind of time to waste playing. If you have that kind of time to play then you have the option of find other ways to gear up. Seven hours a day is getting into the hardcore raider type of game play.
