I meet my fiance in Rift during Beta. A friend fo mine talked me into purchasing the game. Without me knowing it she also knew him. She was in his guild in EQ2. We both joined his guild on Rift. We started questing together and talking thru vent. We exchanged phone numbers. We fell in love without knowing what the looked like. In July I moved from Minnesota to Ohio to be with her. We are now engaged. She is the love of my life....my soul mate. Thank you Trion for introducing us.

He won me over five years ago on Valentine's day when instead of chocolates he got me a kitten. When choosing colours, we both immediately said “creamsicle” and I think it was then we knew. We had been chatting since a few weeks before, but that night our relationship leveled up. We talked and quested together constantly, always giddy. While IRL I perform as a Knight at renaissance faires, in games he is my knight, and I am his support.

Soon our relationship grew beyond the game. I was reluctant to give out my number but he stood on a cobblestone and wouldn't move until he had it. Later when he told me he loved me over the phone, before we'd met, I danced around the house until the asthma kicked in.

We lived 1000 miles apart. However, being young and impulsive, we met on a fortuitous Friday the 13th and had one of the greatest weekends of our lives. Two weeks later I visited again and he proposed. Two weeks after that he flew out and we got married at dawn in a blossoming apple orchard.

Soon after I moved in with him I had a jousting accident and my world turned upside down, but he was always there for me. Laid up at home we spent most of our time gaming, turned our private guild into something bigger. We've had our ups and downs, but gaming together, sitting side by side, sharing in these great adventures, has always kept us close.

Rift has won a special place in our hearts for this. We eagerly started playing right at launch and have loved it all along. After a very rough year, playing Rift brought us back together and made us see the fun in each other again. Despite difficult situations in real life, Rift has provided us with a beautiful place where our love can flourish and grow even stronger.

As an avid gamer, MMOs come and go. They fade in and out like a falling star streaking across the night sky. Such is the nature of the industry, and the fickle attention span of its consumers. However, as a new fiancée, for as long as I live, the world of Telara will hold a special place in my heart. It is where the greatest love I have ever known began and blossomed, and it served as the strongest form of connection to my soul mate during a time when we could not be together.

Though I first met my future husband on a weekend trip to Virginia visiting friends, we both agree that it was through Rift in which we really began to fall in love. We exchanged information, and upon his return to Florida, started spending time together in game. What was at first a simple way to level faster, soon became an excuse to talk and explore one another. Our nightly quests and instances evolved into intimate conversations and personal expressions, oftentimes completely eschewing gameplay and simply allowing the hustle and bustle of Meridian to serve as a backdrop while we grew closer and closer.

Eventually, we were able to express our love, committing ourselves to each other and to making our relationship work. Here again, the world of Telara only strengthened our bond. We were still plagued by distance, each of us with binding obligations to our respective homes. Yet, for a few hours a night, all the miles that separated us seemed to dissolve away as I fought side by side with the love of my life.

Now, months later, we are engaged to be married. His house in Florida is a month away from selling, we are weeks away from acquiring a place together, and he is days away from finalizing a new job in Virginia. Everything my fiancé and I have fought for all these months apart is finally falling into place, and for the first time, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We will be together so very soon, and I can think of no better way to cap it off, than to marry my love in the game where it all began. A new, exciting, adventure awaits us both. We would love for the world of Telara to celebrate its beginning with us.

It’s kind of amazing and a little bit scary to think that if I hadn’t joined that one mmo and done those specific things I did at just the right times, I never would have met my boyfriend.

We met on a free-to-play mmo when I joined the guild he was in and we soon became best friends. Every day when I logged on, I would be so happy and excited hoping that he’d be online so we could go run dungeons together and chat for hours on end. After a few months though, despite always being warned about creepy guys on the internet, I confessed my feelings to him and told him how much I had begun to love him, how much he meant to me even though I had never met him.

It just feels so right loving him; even though we live as far apart as you possibly can without being in another country, we can share everything in our hearts completely and honestly without the normal physical distractions clouding our thoughts. We might not be able to hold each other’s hands or hang out together, but I can text him every second of the day and play with him on Rift when he gets home after work.

My feelings have only deepened and become more concrete since getting to meet him in real life and we feel the pain of not being together even worse since we know what we’re missing . This is why we play Rift, where despite the fact that we are separated physically by thousands of miles, we can still play together for hours on end and be right next to each other in our hearts and on screen.

Being a dwarfs doesn't mean we cannot love as much as the fearless Mathosians and the wise High Elves, we may be tiny but our love for eachother is really big. It all started at a party with my dwarf friends we were drinking a bit to much mead but we dwarfs can hold our liquor better then anyone else. I saw a shimmer in the corner of my eyes, this sexy looking Dwarf with red hair and ocean blue eyes happened to keeping his eyes on me through out the night, he danced his way over to me and we started talking and we hit it off straight away. Turns out that we are both mages which is good for my family as we only use magic and pets. We have been friends for years and years with no hope of love but one day the nature callings of the chloromancer was telling me to just go for it. Then after that we have been together in love for years.

My significant other and I met while questing in the Beta of WoW Cataclysm. Whenever we were online, we would quest together, chat, and began to realise detail by detail, how much we have in common(she started humming the theme from twilight zone). She joined my my guild after transferring her toon from a US to an Australian realm. We would(and still do) quest together. We began chatting on vent then skype and would talk every day for hours on end. We hoped, eventually to one day meet in person, and almost 12 months later she flew from Alabama to South Australia, when we spent a wonderful 3 weeks together, playing side by side.
Another person who loves to play MMOs as much as I do, I consider rare in a relationship, and we continue to spend our time together playing side by side, now in Rift. What a team we made! Killing things, each our love, but together, we had someone to share it with(plus it was easier).
The only downside is being on the other side of the world from her, but the games we play enable us to interact with each other. At present, we are both saving and hope to be together soon(airfares and 36 hour flights included).
