Keeping my fingers crossed that eventually they let us customise our own armor, after all who really wants to look like someone else. As to the guard armor, I would suggest that most will just disgard this after the first few days have passed.

Anyway I have been chatting with Shyla Starhearth and she says she is about ready to get a new outfit and if I wanted her old one I could have it. In return I just have to take Cyril's squirrel for a walk round Sanctum each morning. Seems fair.

First it is too skimpy and then it is too covering. Really, its just a game with different styles all over the place. I am glad to have real armor for once. If you want to look like, ahem, dressed as an individual of dubious intent, there are plenty of armor sets for that goal already. Yes, I avoided the obvious term as I don't want the alarm to go off.
As much as people complain about skimpy armor there really isn't that much of a choice, which is why so many people are going around wearing the rogue starter blouse. It is literally the only short top option in the game that allows you to see any of the skimpier leggings (of which there aren't as many as people complain there are).

As far as being fully covered? I could show you set, after set, after set that's fully covering for females and looks like armor. Even though I didn't want to have to wait until 12 months to get the full costume, part of me was actually hoping that the female Defiant NPC costume would be broken into two halves so I'd have some other short top choice than the rogue blouse.

As an aside, no, I don't dress all of my characters like trollops, but I always did find it ridiculous that cloth classes with paper for armor were the most covered up so I do enjoy having a mage that isn't forcibly clad in a bath robe, for example.

The problem is the only screenshot they offered was that of the male guard NPCs and the armor looks exactly the same -- if you're a male. What they don't tell you is that's exactly how it's going to look on your female character too.

Personally I love the outfits in Meridian and I was so looking foreward to them, this is rediculous that they throw out some random new graphic because a few people complain about showing too much skin....

I think the choice between the two the Real version and the lousy modest one they gave me would have solved the problem...

I am not happy..... I want the regal, elegant looking, if skimpy Guard costume.
This was after all what I was promised.... and yeah our subs (we have 3 of them) was going to immediately be renewed for another 6 months but I'm not so sure now. Right now I am busy being furious at not getting something I was soo looking foreward too.

I understand that there's been a lot of debate over scantily clad armors for females, but could you at least offer the proper female NPC models on the veteran vendor for those of us who wanted them?
IMO my Fem. Kelari looks hot as hell in her Vet. chest piece. and shoulders. However (and I usually don't complain about this kind of thing) I've noted that the armor makes even a Bahmi female appear flat-chested. What's with the arbitrary breast reduction?

yes be nice if got choice of the 2 versions and have access to both when ever we feel like changing our looks, the new one i was disspointed with when logged in this morning but had to rush off to work, was hoping that would look like current Sanctum/Merdian female guards.

So yes if can have both of them the new and the old version would be nice to have the choice for us who love loads of armour outfit options.

So yes more options please Tiron for this Armour, i prob get used to the new look but do liike the old look taht the guards are all wearing , especially the female models.

Yea I was wanting the armored dress on my cleric too. But more than anything I was wanting those amazing looking shoulder guards they have. The male version of the shoulders just look nasty in comparison to how fricken sweet the female shoulder guards are on the Guardian female NPCs.

IMO, the female Defiant armor is really really cute (sorry for the "girl" description, I am what I am) as well as feminine. It looks like a lot of people agree too. Trion might eventually give the option for some to look like "belly-dancer guards" too, lol, but they at least did a brilliant job with making the current female Centurion armor look "pretty" while still looking kickass and martial.

The Guardian, meh, not so much. I understand they were trying to create a good match for the male armor, which looks outstanding on male toons, but it doesn't translate well to the females. It looks too plain and boring. The front doesn't even look like "plate" (like the males) but more like shiny leather. It's pretty disappointing. I don't have an issue with it being covered up, but it lacks the design and flair of the Defiant armor for females.

Makes me wish I had leveled my Defiant instead of my Guardian.

Yeah seriously Trion. As a female player we do like to look good, both out and IN the game. Next time hire some good costume model makers.

I think both armor sets for both genders look great. But, as usual, it is a personal taste when it comes to stuff like this. I do not feel that Trion lied to me about which armor set I was going to get. When I saw the picture of only the Male armor for both factions I automatically assumed that the armor would look similar for both genders. If they were different then seperate photos would/should have been posted.

    Anyway, my opinion.

I really think all female armor should consist of 2 band-aids and a cork.

I agree with the op, they really could of done a better job with the veteran armor for females and maybe offered up a choice of two for those who are sensitive to a little to much skin.

There are over 30 leg armor options that are some form of non-pants, ranging from thongs to bikinis'n'chaps. Meanwhile there's barely a dozen female armor sets across all classes that are indeed full coverage like the male characters get over 90% of the time. The rest all have exposed cleavage or bared midrift that would be fatal in battle. For many people who are not fond of the skimpy armor sets or feel that the game is saturated enough with them at the moment, having the female guard costumes be something that more closely resembles actual armor rather than a bathing suit is a very nice breath of fresh air (and also a sign that the devs are paying attention to both sides of this bikini armor argument).

However, the way to please everyone in this scenario is to stop putting long awaited costume pieces or new armor models into one camp or the other. They need to start working on a system that lets you toggle armor appearances between the skimpy versions and the fully armored versions. That will allow both bikini connoisseurs and battle-ready Ascended have the full range of armor and costume sets to choose from, not just having to pick and choose from a small selection to get something that just barely meets their taste.
