This sounds really cool.
and about time there was a game that had more concidration for its non raiding players unlike some others I will not name here.
So I have a thumbs up for what sounds like will be intresting for us non raiding player once we hit lvel 50 as was starting to think there would be nothing for me other than makeing up an alt![]()
I want to craft stuff that is just as good as the raiders bring home. Maybe not off the last boss but close.
Epic quests for mats and recipes would be fun. Solo path and separate group paths?
OH well, think on it please.
1. i'd like to see more soloable stuff in the end game. rather than more dailies for a new faction rep. something along the lines of challenging solo instances, maybe with big name story npc's. seems like a cool way to earn the alternative advancement mentioned.
2. the game's starting concept/lore has such potential. (the whole time travel), its like terminator and judgement day. see sarah connor chronicles was a great tv series with such potential too.
**** if ever rift encounters an expansion pack, i'd love it to be about going back through time once again, after failing to save the world in this version of time, or a new threat arises and forces you to flee to another time once again!
imagine making the story of the expansion going back further in time this time, only to then move forward in time but into an alternate future with more problems (think the tv series fringe, or again sarah connor chronicles).
edit:

3. i'd also like to see some form of housing. im really sick of the wow banks. if you are serious about secondary skills, then look at ways for us to build furniture for our houses, collect resources and recipes for these items, etc. the housing districts could be instanced of course. (thinking LOTRO)
4. or you could think of doing the same thing for guilds, let them build player cities - rather than guild perks just being a GUI page where you click a talent point, you could let them build a guild city, and make them build structures that would then grant them those same "perks" once the construction is complete. (thinking age of conan)

The upcoming stuff sounds pretty good. Wish we had the ability for addons, like dot timers, dps meters, aggro meters etc. That would be a great thing that Trion could add in an upcoming patch.
Sounds like a great idea.
If all your excessive experiences can be converted into some sort of currencies automatically that you can exchange for boxes that contain any random artifact or even rare mounts, that would be very nice. That would probably motivate people doing all remaining quests that are being ignored once they hit 50s. The event dailies, rifts, WF and instance run are giving so much experience that you can hit 50 before you arrive at Stillmore or Shimmersand ...
there ought to be laws against that - i remember a girl in australia saying they had download limits
anyway on subject
That is actually from player feedback hrmCode:We evaluated (and removed) the Exposed mechanic.
I've been ranting all week about another subject but it's a bright light.
Don't lose that instinct to actually read, players can give you plenty of ideas toward what they want.
Heck, you can always get interns for free from colleges. I was an unpaid intern for something for my resume and it worked out great for me to prove myself. Have them play the game, read the forums and give you notes on what is true and false for free guidance if you want to spend your time developing or running the company.

I would make comments about everything mentioned at the OP, but alas, dont have the time :/
Its a well structured and figured out post - the only thing missing is some timeline feedback for all these goals.
i ll try to be as minimalistic as possible. Long story short is this: Devs, are you planning an itemcentric game where reward is the orange item or will you try give to give as a reward to the player "Telara and the community interaction", setting the player free with maximum liberty?
a) Raids. Yep you are on the right track. Its true though Hammerknell its only going to be for few, and even fewer will enjoy the hoard. Not neccessarily because of the mathematics (grow water res, grow focus/hit, grow dps), as much for the "need to be every evening at a specific time logged and isolated via voice com from my enviroment" prerequestie.
b) world events (Raid rifts, open world adventure, pvp). Even better than raids, these events are something to persuit. Freedom of choice. Make sure you combine them with nice rewards and you will have a returning and increasing crowd.
c) pvp. Pvp in rift is NOT innovative (grind ftw), but i enjoy it. I am a mediocre pvp player and i am able to kill 1-2 adversaries, either in wf or in open world, thus you make me happy. I really wait to see more feedback for the R7-R8 and i expect you to keep your word saying "we will make your R6 favor buys count".
d) Player whine vs constructive critiscm. Lets face it, we players suck big time in the forums. I have seen 80% whine posts for stupid reasons and 20% constructive and focused ones. Unfortunately, you tend to implement ideas in a 50% rate of the incoming feedback, making sure you strongly listen to the player base for well known reasons. Unfortunately in this way you have the tedency to implement whines in your fine tuning process. Please be even MORE carefull when getting feedback implemented in forthcoming updates.
Hope you enjoyed my points, tried to make them as short as possible. After all , i am just a mere player with an underpaid job, not Brad McQuaid.
