Default Is it recommended that we transfer off of low population servers?

I wasn't sure if this post should go into the travel hub forum or the general forum, so sorry if this thread needs to be moved.
While looking at the list of servers that will be available for transfer, I saw someone compare them to server population over all the servers. It appears the servers with medium-high population are the ones open to transfer. So, I'm wondering that since my server is on the lower side, and does not have transfers available, should I transfer off? It's looking like they may be funneling people away from low populations servers to make them these "trial" servers or even merging. In any case my server population will shrink and it will be even harder for me to recruit for my guild, so I'll probably need to transfer. This is all speculations, just want to get some opinions.

To be honest hold off a week till people have moved around some. You could be heading to a shard that dies after todays moves.
    System:

You should wait 2 weeks so the wait a crowd doesn't abandon your future server.

Well if so you can move again in a week.

Yes I advise people on low pop servers to move. That is the intent to make more fully populated servers by adding the low population players to medium population servers, so don't hold back on moving.

The population is not likely going to improve on your low pop server unless you enjoy playing with level 1-15 free trial players only.

Agreed. Nothing worse than going to a party when everyone is already headed for the exit.

The future of the servers not on the "to" list is bleak, IMO. I call that the server-to-be-closed-later list. If I were on one of those shards, I'd definitely avail myself and guild of the transfer option. I do not see a path for those servers to magically start getting a healthy population.

Waiting and discussing it with the guild will be the first thing I do when game goes back live. I'm just wondering people's thoughts. I'm GL and if I have to move servers to keep my guild alive, I will lose a huge portion of my guild that doesn't want to transfer just to get new members. Either way I'm going to be set back if what I think is true.

I would suggest becoming active in your community and advertising it as one to transfer TO, to help restore its population instead of contributing to the problem.

Tell them about the community, types of guilds, what goes on.

Agreed. It'll be hard work ahead for my guild and I.

They are going to ultimately want to move as most of your server is going to ultimately leave in the next few weeks.

There is no reason for people to cling to low pop servers. People are not going to do it, and waiting for them because they don't understand that will not change the ultimate outcome.

If you move the guild to a new server as a guild leader all your guild members will get a message telling them that and allowing them to transfer to that server whenever they want to do so. When they do so they will be rejoined with the guild. Really not much for you to lose.

If people want to stay around unguilded on an empty server that is their perrogative, but not many people are really going to choose that route in the long run.

Low pop servers will begin bleeding the small populations they have starting today. There will be little reason for anyone to stick around in a couple of weeks unless they just like playing by themselves.

Certainly you have a lot of factors to weigh as a guild leader, but it is a pretty easy choice in reality. There is no real downside for you moving the guild to a more populated server, as even if some people don't come right away, as soon as they realize nobody is left on the server they can easily rejoin you.

In fact if you don't move on this, I suspect some of your existing members will jump to new servers without you just because they want to play on a more populated server. I just don't see much benefit worrying about those who don't understand why they are going to move eventually anywyays. They will figure it out soon enough.

I would, but it seems Trion's ambitions are to lower server population on low servers and give people an option to move off of low population before possible mergers occur.

Yeah, but it will be worth it, if it helps make the game playable and more social. In the long run, getting it done sooner rather than later will be important, especially if your guild has people teetering on the edge of quitting.

There are about 3 dozen servers on the transfer list....That should be a good number for a healthy population on each server, so picking the "perfect" move probably isn't going to be an issue, plus if your new server does turn out to be a lemon, they reset once a week.

Anyways, good luck, I hope it works out for you and your guild.

Going to agree with you there. I looks like I have a big discussion with my guild. Was hoping for transfers to be lower population servers instead.
