Log into their website and check your private messages.
Once you apply it to your account, if it says VIP as part of the name in the description, it is a VIP key. Otherwise it is not.
Also, They were raffling both regular keys an the VIP keys. If you got a private message from them then it is a VIP key, if you were given a key as part of the regular registering, it was a normal key.

They are announcing the random winners on Tuesday

I am not sure where you read that. The actual way the contest was done for VIP keys is that you needed to post a quote from them on the Rift facebook page accompanied by your account username on their website. Then the Escapist would look through the posts and randomly select winners and PM them the VIP keys.Originally Posted by Casius

You will be chosen at random on Tuesday, December 14th to participate in this event by Trion.

On December 6th, Escapist members can receive a token by filling out the information below and submitting it.
Once you have your token key code (delivered via private message), head over to the RIFT main homepage and create an account by clicking here.
PLEASE NOTE - you must have this token key code in order to create an account. Only AFTER creating an account are you eligible to be chosen for the weekend event.
You will be chosen at random on Tuesday, December 14th to participate in this event by Trion.
Once you have been chosen, log on to your account and start to download the Beta weekend event patch.
You will be able to begin playing in the Beta weekend event on December 17th at approximately 1PM EST.
Event playtime runs from December 17th at 1PM EST through December 20th at 2:59AM EST
Well, I applied a VIP key from them today. This is what I have under my account: RIFT_VIP_Beta_All_Access_Invite
They probably have a typo on the website. The random lottery is for regular keys and not VIP keys.

Yeah if your key has that VIP term in it then you're guaranteed access to all upcoming beta events after your code is applied.
So you're golden.

...I actually visited the website, what you are pasting is from the regular key section, not the VIP one. Stop misleading people with false information please.
Casius, you have a regular key that will get you into the lottery with a chance to get in the next beta event.
