There are no fishing poles in Items.xml in Rift_Discoveries_2012-4-20.zip. Fishing lures are there, but fishing poles aren't.

Big update was added to the Souls xml files. They have added the Power Coefficients to most abilities.

Not sure if this has been asked for before or not, but is there any chance we can get the information for what mob an item dropped off of with the discovery information. I'm thinking tied into the shard firsts.

I'ld like this as well as it would save my reliance on 3rd party web sites being updated regularly.

3rd party sites are stuck waiting on trion to release updated data so they can update, so generally it's not the websites fault.

The websites I was referring to are RiftPad which has now closed down, and Xanadu which seems to get all it's information from people adding it manually, and only has drops for expert dungeons and raids. I use these as they present the information in a manner that is easy(ish) to parse. I'm thinking of looking into pulling the information from Zam instead as it seems to be more reliable, but I don't know how hard it will be. I would rather avoid this altogether and have the information in the discoveries file.

Does anyone know where Zam get's their drop data from?

I know this goes back to the 6-25 file and maybe earlier.

There are a lot of apostrophes (\x92)s mostly in the name/English sections (look at Rorf's Pinky Ring for one). I even saw 1 english/description with an It's and a don't together.

Also, there are some non-breaking spaces (\xa0). Again check Rorf's Pinky Ring, it's after the g in ring.

It would be really helpful to get these bad characters out of the english portion of the feed.

So um, I'm not seeing a single one of the current EU shards listed in any of the discovery XMLs as of late? I'm not sure when exactly this happened, only just noticed it today, but I have an old copy of the 7-13 XMLs and they're lacking them too. Edit: Missing in 7-6 XMLs, present in 5-14. Don't have any others to check.

I see lots of old shards that aren't around anymore, like Centius, Cloudborne, Feenring, etc. But the actual current ones are nowhere to be found, even older discoveries that used to be present are now missing. For example, there's not a single discovery in any of the XMLs for all of Icewatch. Huh?

It basically contains a whole lot of information about stuff in the game which you need to pull out of it by writing an xml parser that retrieves the information you want. But to be honest, first of all you need to have an idea of what you want to do with it...

Yeahhh, between us, are great designers, technicals, and every normal people has good ideas. Some of us, will share work or ideas free because want to participate with those started rift, want to improve it. And is logical because we will get benefits in this. I have set up the ps1 file and run the cmdlet (?) just as you have set out between the inverted commas. The only change I have made is to alter the HugeAnnoyingXML.xml to the name of my file (Items.xml). It appears to run in powershell without an error message but after an hour there is no obvious progress and the Svelte.xml is still at 0KB.

Am I missing something?
