You remove the broken power steering and replace it, you mamby pamby jackwagon...

Couldn't figure that one out on your own either? Go figure...very unintelligent response.

Please, name the AddOn after me. Then even the meter will be laughing in your face.

How are they innacurate? They both pull the numbers straight from the combat log, they both use the same messages to determine how long combat lasted. In game meters often sync with other players using the meters in the same guild/raid, so they are MORE accurate than a parser because they can account for people lagging or being out of range.

I already addressed this, you must have missed it.

So 1300 words for something totally unrelated to Rift later and I'm back!

My take on the last 8 or so pages since I was here is this:

People may or may not be ******s, but given easy access to meters they have more power to lord it over others.

The people who have need of those features will have them available in 3rd party format.

Why bother giving the unwashed masses easy or even default access to something which just allows them to flaunt their ignorance?

Examples how they are inaccurate? Other then them not giving you the results you think you deserve.

I advise you to read the entire thread, to understand why the opposing side feels this way.

How is going to riftparser.com and downloading and installing a parser different than going to riftaddons.com and downloading an installing a meter?

This is a dead horse conversation, why continue it? It is blantantly obvious that many of the forum divas hate dps/threat meter and when they arrive you can argue with them again.

If you think the entire thread is flaming, then i must laugh. (Mods would have shut it down if it wasn't credible discussion)

    Both sides offer credible points.

The difference is that the opposing side has logical answers, while the supporting side can't defeat the opposing sides logic. The supporting sides only argument is "desire" and claiming it to be a "need."

You know the answer to that question.

If Rift has a) a built in meter or b) an addons repository it will be expected that you use the meter.

If you have to go to a site for a specific 3rd party piece of software, the vast majority of people who would otherwise not need to use that item simply won't go and take the time to download it.

I think there's some kind of internet law that ******s are handicapped and can't go over humps to get things done.

    Or was that Daleks?

Meters will be in game sooner or later. Really doesn't matter. People who want them will get them and watch results.

You seem to be missing the point that it's how they're available that is the key.
