Find a way to climb above Granite Falls. Dancing squirrels. Zone puzzle on the way up. Have fun.
Hey Devs, can this thread get a sticky please? That way 2 months down the line we don't have 10 of these threads.![]()
I didn't have any extra to add, but during beta I repeatedly would say "Cackaw, Cackaw" while doing /chicken. It really tickled me that they added that.![]()

This thread seems to have died! I'm sure there are more out there.
The level 50 drink - Ironpine Melange - may be a reference to spice melange from Dune.
Not sure this should be deemed easter egg or popular culture reference instead:
The Love in the Age of the Shade artifact set has the following book/film references:
Twilight of the Shade -> reference to the Twilight series? (Stephanie Meyer)
Underplane -> reference to the Underworld film?
Interview with a Lorn -> reference to An Interview with the Vampire (Anne Rice)
Vampire Journals -> reference to The Vampire Diaries (L. J. Smith)
Beryl the Vampire Slayer -> Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Living Dead in Droughtlands -> Living Dead in Dallas (Charlaine Harris)
In Scarlet Gorge, some of the miners say "The Sourcestone must flow!" - a nice nod to Dune.
more more more, keep em coming people
and I still haven't had my squirrel question answered
(this thread needs a sticky as there are more easter egg threads popping up, though none as comprehensive as this one...would cut down on clutter to combine them)![]()
Unfortunately both are already referenced in WOW. While of course WOW is referencing the same sources Rift is referring too. It's just kind of sad or something that even their easter eggs are identical to WOWs.
1. Mudders Milk - Been sold by ogre's since TBC.
2. Deep Ones - a complete race in WOW since WOTLK.
I mean seriously... At least try to forge some identity for yourself. Making pop culture references is WOW's thing and these aren't really easter eggs. More like references. A true easter egg is finding something hidden in a hard to find area left by the developer.
Machinist Calwyn and Machinist Hobart in the Library in Meridian is a reference to Calvin and Hobbes. They even have a transmogifier that never works quite right.
