Exclamation Rift Shard Status Traybar Application

    Hi,

for my personal convinience I made a small application to monitor the shard status and display an icon on the traybar. It's working for me, so I thought maybe you like it as well. Currently I consider it an alpha release since I haven't done extensive testing. Try it out it you want, but I will take no responsibilties for any damaged cause whatsoever.

To install the application simply extract the Zip to wherever you like and double click the application.

You can also download the Visual Express C$ 2010 project sources if you interested in the source code. Please send me any modifications on the source code you make.

Of course and as usual and feedback is highly appreciated. Upcoming releases will probably feature language translations as well.

P.S.: If this application is unwanted by TRION, please tell me so I can remove it ASAP.
P.P.S.: I had to upload the files to Dropbox since they are too large for the forum.

Its nice you released the source code as well. Hopefully that will stop the thread getting spammed with "omfg keyloggers!"

That's exactly why I did it ;) Although I can understand anyone doubting any application that does run in the background coming from an unknown source. ;)

It's a valid concern - I'm not keen on folks being rude schmucks, but expressing that concern in a clear and courteous fashion shouldn't be discouraged. With that said, it's nice to have access to all of the source code for a game tool - Haubi's tool is also interesting, and he seems genuine, but that server-side PHP script makes me leery.

    Nice app.
Update status resets to 10 when I set it to 5.
Should add a "start on boot up" option.

The "10min" is just a display bug, I'll fix it with the next version. ;) And I'll probably make an installer for it and add the statup option as well.

    Thanks alot for the feedback

Drag the program icon into your windows menu and place inside "Startup"... Guess what happens...

    Great lil app btw!

I set up a Google Code project for the application as well as a google group. Bugs can be reported there.

    Google Code Project at http://code.google.com/p/riftshardstatus/
    Google Group at http://groups.google.com/group/riftshardstatus/

Thanks anyone for testing and reporting ;)

    Arrow Project Update

I am currently evaluating and considering a complete rewrite to use the Mono Framework (which is compatible with the .NET Framework) so the application could be easier ported to Linux (if wanted) or if possible is already ready-to-run on Linux right out of the box. Since this includes using GTK# (an opensource toolkit for displaying windows and build user interfaces) this might take a bit. I am also switching the development environment to either SharpDevelop or MonoDevelop which both are opensource as well.

This might not be of too much interest or concern to most of you, but still I think I should let you know what I am doing - besides playing RIFT - at the moment.

    Sincerly,
    Jan ;)
