So in your words I'm "mad" and my logic is "flawed" simply because you disagree with me. And you accuse my logic of being flawed? Sorry to burst your bubble but I'm not mad, upset... not even mildly tweaked. I said nothing of anyone's individual skill. However, the point stands: if you haven't downed the content you carry no weight when speaking of the ease of said content. Arguing that point is just plain silly.
Do all of you actually think Trion will let their subscribers stall in ID progression when Storm Legion releases? If they let that happen subscribers won't rush to purchase the expansion as they will continue to focus on their progression. This is a financial tactic and has nothing to do with brusing your epeen.

People complaining about nerfs before content releases still baffles me. Being a hardcore raider, I understand both sides of the ball. On one, you don't want anyone that can't beat the content to ever beat it in the difficulty where you beat it because after time nerfs are forgotten in general and only achievements count, so they can spam you with OMG YOU CANT BE THAT GOOD I BEAT THAT 2!!! LOL!1211. On the other hand, we like this game and want it to thrive, get more subscribers, make more money so Trion can do more content, right? Well, to do that they need to take care of the lowest common denominator. We got our hardcore progression race(I came in a bit late, but still) and pretty much had exclusive content to a few percent of players for months. It's time for the lower progressed, less hardcore raiders to see the content to its fullness.
I don't think it's as big a nerf as people say.
The only thing I can see helping is less charge regen on P2 although that may actually have a negative impact in that people will need to drain less, and so forget more often.
1 extra second on blue aoe hits is a tiny tiny nerf - maybe I'll be more inclined to finish my cast now instead of interrupting it and moving.
As for Orb damage - how much is it going to hit for in total now?
To be honest, people are still going to be dying from the same mistakes as they were pre-nerf.

Maybe 50 or 60 in the US, by glancing at server progression threads. And that's counting guilds still stuck learning HK, and new guilds who can barely dent HK's front gates.
There are people who would come over to Rift from WoW right now if the barrier to entry was a little less... resilient. They want a new game but looking at Rift from the outside, of you're a raider right now in WoW, it can look a bit daunting to "catch up with the joneses" when you're looking at leveling 1 to 50, grinding 1034 PA, grinding 50 prestige ranks & 4m+ favor AND building enough of a reputation to get into a guild you can raid successfully with AND learning all of that raid content and trying to get up to, and clear, ID... all before Storm Legion hits.
Nerfing Laethys is just one small step in that direction. If more guilds push through and defeat her, raiding in Rift starts to look less and less like an elitist's playground to the "outsider". And that encourages more subs.
After doing it last night here's what I noticed:
P1 damage was reduced a bit, about 10-20% on the tank
P2 energy draining, we ran 4 instead of 5 and she stayed at 0 near entirely. If you had 3 smart coordinated drainers I imagine that would work as well. So maybe you gain a bit of DPS relieving someone of that duty.
P2 blue circle tail spikes are actually more annoying to me and basically no change at all. Before you could move off and back on to the same area quickly, now you run for a longer time during that phase as numerous areas on the ground become untouchable for longer periods of time. I don't think this added much except for people who panicked and couldn't decide what direction to move when blue + subjugate came together.
P3, No change to adds, debuff, or enrage timer.
After seeing all this, it seems as if it just pushes people past p1 more consistently, but they still have to learn all the mechanics and execute properly through to the finish. I'd be surprised if this set of changes really brought any real change to people attempting to kill Laethys. They most likely weren't failing on P1, but perhaps the idea of this is to shift less focus on heals and draining and more DPSers are allowed in case of deaths to meet P3 soft enrage.
