mCR Mob's Earthquake Ability

Ok, so I cannot think of the Mob's name. It is the Stone elemental pat right at the beginning of the zone in after/during the 1st pull and the 2nd pat as well, the one that you should pull b4 engaging High Thane.

As a dps warrior, I notice that this is hitting for more health than I have. Anywhere from 7k-9k. There is no cast, there is no channel. It just hits, so my question is:

How do I deal with this at a melee dps? Do I just sit back and be worthless or is there something I am missing?

You don't, but I think there's a visual animation he does that might give you time to run out.

They generally cast it fairly soon. So we have melee stand out until it goes off. They die before they recast it.
