.. You do know who are you talking to? These are Voodoo members who got world first on prenerf hard as **** bosses in HK. I think they know what they are talking about. Voodoo has said they tried stack more dps as well and other strats maxing out their dps but still having enough heals to survive. They look at the numbers all the time while your talking to them like they are idiots. x.x
If you been to phase 2 65% let me know because i don't know anyone who has gotten that far. Even hitting second phase makes the strongest guilds buckle at the moment. =/

Actually, it's a perfect analogy for the most plausible outcome: that the enrage timer is cumulative and there is no 50% mechanic. Could we be wrong? yeah, possibly, but there is no evidence (yet) to suggest that.
Only one guild, as far as I know, is anywhere close to where we were on the first day. We had perhaps one healer too many. "Numerous other guilds" also think you 2 tank the fight. That's because they haven't significantly worked on phase 2 to understand why 3 tanks are used. We easily cleared phase 1 in 3 add waves (the best that anyone is doing at the moment) but that comp gets wiped in phase 2. Phase 2 has a much higher energy drain requirement, tanking requirement, and AOE healing requirement than phase 1. And not only that, but on our "perfect" attempts we were clearing in 4 add waves. If you save a minute by doing it in 3 add waves, you're still, at max, hitting 50%
Realistically, I doubt any guild will hit 50% before the enrage until it is patched. Addiction is probably the only guild that has a shot and I'd love to see them hit it to see if there is another mechanic. I doubt it.
They said they tried doing more dps but obviously never did it for an attempt they made it to the enrage, they do not know what/if there are mechanics on the boss beyond where they got it yet they continue to claim that it is impossible. With people such as yourself who just take their word as god even when they stipulate unless they missed something. It is disingenuous of them to make statements of impossibility when they didn't really put in the effort.
Its not like guilds are raising their hands into the air quitting after voodoo said the boss might be impossible. They are still trying to get him down. Honestly no one has been close enough to reject their claim. If there is some weird phase change at 50% phase 2 well then Voodoo was wrong. So what?
But from their evidence (looking at the numbers), looking from their past boss experience and going the farthest then any other guild... Yes i would take their word for it. They were the most experience guild and players on rift. Unless you have more information about the fight and been that far please enlighten me.

- Greed's Wrath (Laethys phase 2 auto attack) was previously auto attacking immediately after golden subjugation (fist slam, which does ~80% of your hp even if you dodge it) and instagibbing tanks. With these notes, we could have run 2 tanks again instead of 3 (+1 dps).
- Laethys no longer gains Energy while channeling Golden Destruction. This means we could have dropped a drainer (+1 dps) and possibly a healer (previously we had to heal two drainers through 5k/s aoe to drain energy during golden destruction), or healers would have had more dps time at the very least.
- As others have previously said, we definitely could have dropped 1 healer from our previous comp.
This is a total of probably 3-4 dps that we could have added over our comp that was enraging @65%. This a huge increase in dps, probably 50% (10-15k) if I had to guesstimate. That increase in dps from the better comp along with slightly slower add spawns means you can probably push laethys in phase 1 in 2 add waves (3 max) which will save another 1-2 minutes off our phase 1. You couldn't do that in the previous build because your comp would get wiped out in phase 2. Added to the other minute you get on the enrage timer, you're looking a fight that may now be possible. We'll have to see if Addiction can do it. ;)
TL;DR:
-Gained 50% dps
-Gained 2-3 minutes extra for phase 2
-Probably killable now.
