its the most fun fight for sure/. Not the hardest. Tbh there aren't any hard fights in the game any more.
Yeah Akylios .. is too easy now =/. We just downed him last night and we had more time progressing on phases 1 and 2 and pretty much facerolled 3-4. If they didn't make it so breath was called out or the waves did knock you off i can honestly say that we would have spent another 2-4 weeks trying to down him.
The breathes got nerfed pretty bad to the point that they could easily just remove them and no one would notice anything. Whats the point in doing a call out you don't need raid awareness for that... The waves are the same thing. Once you know what your doing they are easily dodged. I thought the fight was suppose to get HARDER as you progress further but it is .. pretty carebear.
I don't feel bad that we downed him when we did but i wish my guild was progressed enough that we were on akylios before the nerfs to him hit. =(

Silgen is i think one of the hardest bosses in the game. I say this because they gave you like all the mechanics right away in the beginning and tell you to survive (instead of giving you more over time). There is a little RNG to the fight as well and it's in a small space that can mess people up really easily. It really comes down to no one dying. I remember once had a tether and a heatwave right where the boss was. By the time the heatwave was over and the tank moved the boss i was dead lol. There was nothing i could have done.
Silgen is tricky but once you learn the dance though he is pretty easy.

My guild downed Akylios for the first time Monday night, not having a chance at him in his pre-nerfed state. I agree that it was somewhat disappointing. Phase 1 and 2 were much more difficult to learn and master. From phase 3 on, once people stopped derping to breaths, there really wasn't anything very difficult about the fight.
RNG is everything

Props to this guild, haha.![]()
Of course there is no correlation between the wave nerf and a very large portion of guilds who were stuck at 10/11 such as the large majority of oceanic guilds stuck working on the fight for months. You'd be a lot more credible if you didn't completely ignore the evidence floating around in plain sight or brush it under the carpet if it in any way contradicts whatever you call the agenda you are constantly pushing.
The final wave patterns aren't that bad but rng and having a few core members having a pressure induced or unlucky derp such as healers and an otherwise OK attempt goes downhill. That combined with the fight length means you get to see p4 a lot less because people tend to have lives and can't afford to stay on a boss all day. The waves making you unressable if hit, clerics not being able to cheese it and floating away and the phase this is crucial being so late in the fight made it harder to get practice on. Of course making it all irrelevant will make the fight a crapton easier.

As for Silgen, I'm not sure why he's harder than Arakhurn. He is tuned so that T1 raid geared players need to pull almost flawless execution to down him because the DPS check is stringent and he blocks you from Arakhurn with most of the weapons whereas you can faceroll him quite easily in a HK geared group with a fair number of mistakes. As for funnel being easy to dodge, easier if you sit on low ping.
