RoS Chronicle - Square of Carpet Soiled by Galenir

Anybody know what this does? Bought one, did Chronicle, square gone from inventory with no noticeable change.
Someone suggested it might/is supposed to give you an Epic item at the end, but I received none.

Wondering what I spent 2.5p on.

I bought one as well, the text seemed to suggest in the future it would become an artifact.

Once i left the dungeon the item vanished from my backpack, no new artifact in my backpack, chat didnt state i have gained a new artifact.

So do i make a bug report? Or did I just get scammed ingame from an npc?

OK, after finding this item today, this is actually hilarious if you've been playing long enough to get it.

It's a gray item, named "Square of Carpet soiled by Galenir" with the subtext description "The merchant seems to believe this will one day be a collector's item..."

Here's the story.

When the game released, there were rare crafting nodes found around the world. These, when looted by someone with the appropriate craft, would give blue items such as "Asturn Pine" with the subtext description "A rare crafting ingredient found around Iron Pine Peak" or some such appropriate location. There was never a use for these, but a lot of people kept them in their banks to this day in the hope that someday there would be a use.

Well, with 1.7 released these BLUE items were turned into GRAY ones. They now appear identical in appearance to this square of carpet. It's an inside joke by Trion at the fact that people thought these things would be useful and collector's items but never were.

The square of carpet is a gray item: if you hit the "sell all grey items" button, it will sell it. I think I got the full 2.5p back.

If you can manage to not accidently vendor it and keep it in ur bag for 24 hr's it will actually turn into a random artifact. Random artifact from the Trollol's artifact set.
