Advice for Akylios progression?

I'd check what spec your mages are running. Ours were top or near top dps throughout most the fight (though our warriors complained about MB missing).

We got a dagger and cleric tanking shield (shard first somehow even though TI has been killing him for months).

We actually don't have all mages doing AoE the whole time, a couple help for stinger killing.
As such, they are running Pyro/Lock, not the higher AoE focused builds (not SC or 51 pyro). Our warriors are on constant AE duty, so naturally they will hold bigger numbers.

We do this method slightly different from the Rift Strats suggestions due to advice from a mentor guild who farms Aky. We have a few members who are more experienced with Aky phases then the rest, one of which is from that "mentoring" guild who raids with us as well. Our composition has proven very successful so far, as per our progression speed.

Yeah I think this is the best way. It's immune to the spawn timers being out of synch.
-Get your ranged team to help out with those two lashers too. The first lasher in phase 3 should melt, as they aren't busy yet.
-Your ranged team can finish the 2nd lasher off as well, as you set up the orb and mind decay clear group near aky.
-Apostles are not a threat at this point in your progression. A rogue can hold one all day long, and in fact will get an achievement for it.

Very excited to tweak our strat to do this... we should have a good long night of practice on Aky tonight. I co-raid lead for this, specifically phase 2&3 add calls so i am excited to see how this pushes our reliability of getting further into phase 3.

GL. We were down two warriors yesterday and I had to resort to STDPS to ensure proper phases. It really is all about a rogue on the ball, babysitting the final apostle, and getting your team up at aky's face and in position for the first breath. It went down as smoothly as it ever has.

You can beat aky smoothly with a final ACT raid dps of just 20,000. Even below that. STDPS on lashers and then apostles in all the downtime in that fight is underestimated in the era of NNNNNGGGGG PARSE RESULTS.

All that dps that the small critters add doesn't matter a bit to the fight.
