I really do, I think it adds another level of depth to being a well informed or veteran player. Knowing the ins and outs has its benefits; I like that.
Anyone else?

plus.... trash is boring as ****. seeing as how i need to run these dungeons 100+ times for myself and others before we can raid, anything that makes that faster is fine with me.
One day, in the future... the whole idea of using "trash mobs" as a timesink will disappear from the world of MMORPGs, and will only be a distant memory.
Instead, it will be replaced with meaningful content and challenging encounters.
The whole reason it was made in the first place, is to make a group-zone take more time to complete and seem a lot larger than it really is - to cut money on designing more boss encounters.
Why make 10 unique, challenging and fun boss encounters, when you can make only 4 of them, and fill it with trash mobs.
The instance will appear just as large, but will save money on development.
Plus, the player base won't complain it's less fun - after all, they've got nothing better to compare it to.
The shortcut is the only highlight of my charmer's caldera runs when the grouping "random" puts us there 70% of the time. Because gronic sure as **** isn't dropping any pauldrons.
I hate "shortcuts". Why? Because someone always gets stuck in a spot that wasn't supposed to be travled apon and gets stuck. And besides, I and many other need that dragonslayers reputation so we can get the better headpiece rune enchant. And running xCC is the easiest way to put up with the lame grind.
As far as I'm concerned, the "shortcut" in CC is an exploit. There are 3 groups of of 3-4 mobs that you end up skipping by using the shortcut. That's what, 5-7 minutes of time you are cutting out there? DPS should switch into an AoE spec for trash and mow through it all. Get your rep, gold, and chance for recipe drops. If you don't want to run CC, then queue for a specific dungeon.

one day all dungeons will be devoid of trash. just be a series of empty corridors leading to rooms which contain bosses.

Trash is fun, don't know why people complain about it so much. I love watching fail groups screw up pulls and wiping or people tab targetting and pulling the entire room on the group.
If you don't like grind and pointless tasks, try playing something easier, like Hello Kitty Online.
lol@ this guy above me . Man you sound so geneeric, stop being a follower and say something that has been said before. Why do people who troll forums think they are cool because they repeat something?
LUL? WTFBBQ?
go play HKO ...
go back to wow
wow fan boi
etc.
be a man, make your own words.
and its not about ** not wanting to ** ****, ive seen purples drop off random mobs, and would i kill trash unless i had to ? no.
Its not an exploit, its an advantage and time saver. Not all of us wanna see the same mobs 20x over and kill them for 0 % beneficial reasons.
I've never seen a big baddie that didn't have an army. Part of the "fun" of the experience is engaging and demolishing the army / trash as a small band of warriors to take down the leaders.
I guess dungeons are just an end boss and his 10 buddies now since nobody else wants to follow them. Sounds like a legit threat to an entire world.
I would strongly favor disabling respawning trash, however. I think it's silly to get rid of trash though. It's not artificially prolonging the experience... if you want to argue that, then anything that isn't a vending machine that shoots loot at you is a gimmick. It's fantasy, big threats have armies. You have to beat those armies. Welcome to endgame gaming where you have to do a few things that take time and require moderate effort.
Yeah, i would think the bigger the boss the greater the number of followers. And, they would be fanatical...I mean, why not.
So, the first boss in GP, couple followers (maybe 30 or so), since he's just starting out in his career. Than by the time you get in to HK, each boss has like 100 to 1000 followers (which of course doesn't include the guys they send out into Telara). Waves and waves of bad guys...epic boss should mean epic fight. Not, we kill a few things, than some trash things (maybe even more trash things), and then spend a few minutes killing said epic guy for his epic loot.
And make it random - actually random ...not where each wave is identical each time in.
Sure, the boss mechanics could remain the same, so it's not impossible, but change up the enemy composition, order of skill usage, vary the number and spawn points and rate. Hell, give the npc's a chance and give them the same debuff skills so you have to keep an eye on who just got sheered.
I'd love to see some enemy MM spamming eradicate on the main tank.
That would be epic...really.
The thing about trash mobs is when a dungeon is well designed, they present Tactical challenge to the Strategic challenge of the bosses.
Also the fun is suppose to be in the actual running of the dungeons for the joy of killing the baddies- in of itself. The shinies are just gravy. If there were 0% benefit or gain to killing a boss, you wouldn't bother? Really? So you are saying you don't enjoy playing the game, essentially.
That's so moronic it would be like saying, "I am tired of shooting these mobs on the way to the Cyberdeamon."
What are you going to do when you skip the trash and get done 10 mins sooner? Re-que to do it again or AFK?
Short on time/unable to play for many hours != don't play an MMO ever.
Couple of our guildies were feared through the ground and actually ended up below in some chambers in watery depths. They increased their graphic settings and took some screen shots. It looks so sweet down there.
That's the only positive that has ever come about from being feared into the world...but wait, I thought Trion fixed this fearing issue...
