Default Tier 3 Five Man Dungeons, and Let The Gear Roll Downhill

hey man what the heck's going on here? new gear for raiders... new gear for pvp'ers... where's teh love for the casual players who will mostly only ever do 5 mans and rift raids? a new 5 man is coming which is cool and all but come on.... give us a reason to keep playing this game. here's some ideas i had:

    1. convert all 10 of the 5 mans so that all of them have separate tiers, instead of 5 dungeons for tier 1, and 5 dungeons for tier 2.

    2. open up a tier 3 for all the 5 mans. give us something to do beyond what is given now.

    3. rework the drops in the dungeons altogether. as it is the drops are ridiculous. do a long run to kill 7 bosses only to watch something drop you can't use. and when finally.... FINALLY you get something you need to drop, you LOSE the ROLL.

    4. open up new plaque gear. like i said, the gear should roll downhill.

    5. i'll say it again.... the gear should roll downhill. i dont mind not having the best gear in the game as long as i can keep ugrading. because ultimately thats what this type of game is all about, the never ending quest for gear.

    6. and one last time.... give us a reason to keep playing this game.

on a final note i'd like to say that this game really kicks ***. its tons of fun, i like the dungeons, the rifts, the invasions, the wardrobe customization for my toons.... hell, go take a look at warcraft graphics after playing rift... its like stepping back into the stone age. i want to keep playing this game, i really do.

So what I got from this thread was that you only want gear that is round? So it can roll down this hill you keep talking about?

If you have time for raid rifts, you have time for raiding. Further, if you have time to do 5-man Dungeons, you have time for raiding. We clear GSB in ~45 minutes weekly, but honestly, as a "Starting" Raid guild, we cleared our "Cleared" Content in an hour or two at most.

In the time you can "PUG" (With Tier 1 expert bad-geared bads in poor specs) a single xDSM run, you can kill 3/5 GSB easily. EASILY. Probably pug'd, with the right leadership.

I submit that you aim to check out the Raid scene, it's not some elaborate, labyrinthine elitist scene full of overly difficult fights. GSB is very very slow-ramp-up to raiding, and is a good way to 'get into' raiding. :-)

Once you have content on farm raiding doesnt take that long. The issue for many people, though, is you have to have set schedule. That require prioritizing higher than other things in RL. Raid Rifts and T2s can all be done whenever. If LFG supported queuing for raids and forcing you to do the bosses in order but not all at once than raiding would be much more generally available.

For sure, as I said, it can take upwards of 2 hours for "I'm wearing blues wat has I do for tis bawss now?" groups. And requiring an organizational group does not equate to prioritizing the game over Real Life. No. It requires a very, very basic level of competence at having some kind of routine and being able to effectively manage your own time. Prioritizing comes before you schedule your fun. Your fun should and can easily include (As you're already playing an MMO) time for an MMO. That time is regular, or at least semi-regular unless you're a zombie pirate ninja rockstar with rotating shifts working on a world-circling airplane.

Point is, for a LOT of the folks who think they "Can't" Raid, it's not so delicate and hard-to-do as they think. Find a like-minded pack of people (Because they're out there), and hit it up when you can. Else it's just sheer laze and sloth, and that kind of makes me want to say that everything in the world isn't an instant gratification thing; and that proper planning when well rewarded is one of the best parts of anything, including an MMO.
