    Default Bug? Timed Magnetic Lure fishes up a disproportionate number of rare artifacts

    This seems like a bug to me.

    Timed Magnetic Lure fishes up a disproportionate number of rare artifacts. When fishing with it, I end up with a stack of blue and green fishing artifacts and see very little common fishing related artifacts. This is especially problematic because each set contains many more common artifacts than rare ones.

    And I want to clarify this isn't a run of luck. I've seen this issue over all the fishing zones with many 100 artifacts fished up while using the Timed Lure. This is also reflected in the Auction House prices. Where common fishing artifacts sell at 10 to 100 times premium in basically every set.

    If anything the opposite should be true or even better the drop rate should be even across all possible fishing artifacts.

    Please address this.

    I did notice that as well. There are fishing artifact sets where I got the blue artifact 4 times already, but only a combined total of maybe 2 or 3 whites from that set.

    My theory (which is complete speculation, mind you - I don't have any sources to back it up) is that since you can also fish up regular zone artifacts, they fiddled with the loot tables so that you'd be less likely to get an artifact you've picked up a few times during normal adventuring already. At least for non-fishing artifacts, getting more greens and blues definitely is a beneficial result, since there is a readily available supply of whites all over the game world anyway.

    As you point out correctly however, the opposite is true for artifacts you can only get from fishing. I'd also prefer them to adjust the loot tables a bit more in favor of whites. Don't make blues as rares as they are in the rest of the game world, just tone them down a bit.

    Good catch!

    I mean... too good of catch! ;)

    I've adjusted the drop rates of fished-up artifacts so that commons, uncommons, and rares are more appropriately distributed.

    Look for these changes in 1.9.

    That would explain why some of the blues are dirt common and some of the whites aren't showing up after thousands of catches.

    I don't see why we can fishup normal artifacts (non-fishing) anyway.
    And I've noticed it aswell, the chance on a blue or green is about the same or even more common then whites.

    What I think should happen is:
    If you fish normally you get fishing artifacts and zone artifacts
    If you fish with Omen Sight (or the defiant one) you should get fishing and zone artifacts and twisted zone artifacts

    Or you stop fishing up normal artifacts alltogether, no idea what those are doing in the water anyway.
    And while we are at it schools of artifact fish, where you get 3 guaranteed fish artifacts.

    Those changes should make a big difference imho.
