Your White Whale Horror Stories - Trophy Fish that have eluded you?

Trophy fishing horror stories...

I used probably 15-20 timed metallic lures and Fished up at least 100 normal Powernosed Crabs and never saw a Trophy Powdernose in Shimmersand.

Then yesterday I was fishing in Shimmersand without any lures and within five minutes fished up both the Trophy Powernose Crab and the Trophy Nautilus.

The final one I needed was a Trophy Sandnautilus from Shimmersand. Took me a few hours before I got lucky; all fishy artifacts sets complete. Now I just need to finish the other fishable artifact sets... A projects of weeks. Need to stock up on Magnetic Lures first.

How many fish total did you have to catch to get all the trophies? Did you use Timed Lures?

I have 7 more trophies to go and I'm over 16K fish.

Something between 18K and 22K, I guess. Can't check anymore. I haven't used many lures, but doing so will net you more artifacts, so you're likely to finish your arti sets faster too. (Hindsight is always useful...)

Are you saying the Timed Magnetic Lure is a waste? Because it should in theory get you there 3 times as quickly as no lure at all.
