    Default 1.8 Artificer Disappointed

I must say I'm pretty disappointed with the new recipes for Artificer. Once 1.8 hits, I had all but 1 ring recipe to get which I got the following week. Up to release I was farming crafting rifts like crazy to get the 95 marks needed for every single recipe. Except for a few seals requests, I only made 1 ring since that time. I understand the important mats comes from ID and the only people will have that will raiding guilds, since they will be hoarding those mats until their guild doesn't need it..then they will sell them on AH. At the moment I've saw one of those mats on AH, and the going price was about 2k plat.

My point is that most raiding guild may or may not want those crafted rings since there are some decent ring drops off of the first 2 bosses. 7 Rings just off of Warboss and 1 from Maklamos. Except for the focus/hit on the ring, not many people would spend all that plat / dkp for the crafted rings. It's just not a priority for them.

I thank Trion just for the abundant Artificer recipes, but they are pretty uncraftable for about 90% of players...unless there will be a way later on where you can trade your infernal marks for Crystallized Soul or Infernal Phylactery.

Ok...just my QQ on not making a lot of plat that I was hoping for.

    Default what were you thinking../

weaponsmith - salavge drops (drops FREQUENTLY OFF FARMABLE MOBS, quest rewards, and made weapons to make buffs...

artifacer = screwed - to make buffs you need to be REALLY LUCKY and get add drops (gems) from nodes that ALWAYS drop ore or crafting quest rewards, VERY VERY RARELY DROPS OFF FARMABLE MOBS...CANNOT salvage from drops to get gems... EVER... AT ANY TIME...DON't EVEN TRY... SALVAGING BLUES STILL give metal bits which to an artifacer are, from what I have seen, COMPLETELY USELESS - which means send it to another char and don't waste the blue

rogue and warrior buffs = NO PROBLEM
mage and cleric buffs = hunt and pray that you get what you need

There is a reason that on my shard the results from LIGHTSTONE AGATE sell for over 2P each!!! WTF WHY do you make it SO easy for warriors and rogues to get their buffs and screw mages and clerics - cannot keep up with my own chars let alone sell them and the ones I CAN sell (warriors and rogues) are so cheap and easy to get that it's not worth it.

Solution: Make GEMS DROP FROM SALVAGED ITEMS - MORE SO FROM BLUES- make some metal nodes JUST drop gems and no ore (best idea since then they would have to mine more to get them and more gems available via AH AND may drop more than ONE or TWO (not unlike ore) making ore farmers work a bit more for their buffs, a bit harder although STILL easy.

To have all gear drops including blues salvage into primarily items that an artifacer cannot use other than ore is the BIGGEST failure in the game (In addition, blues give no better salvage value than some junk greens). WHY the HELL would you salvage for items you can't even use???????? People don't even LOOK for the items made for buffing from artifacer cause they are SO difficult to make that you never can sell extras because you cannot keep up with your own needs!!!!!!!!!

NOW with 1.8 you add insult to injury with my NEW need to get NINTY FIVE master craftsman's marks. (I had 6)

Lets think about that.. I get ONE per week... I ran dailies since 1.8 EVERY day and I got ONE in about 3 weeks. I did 26 crafting rifts and got ..... wait for it.... WOW... OMG insane...................... TWO (and I ran some with a large goup, some with a small group and some solo- small group I got the two - solo and large group I got zero)

At this rate I will be able to get all the recipes in about 8-9 months - I don't mind things being difficult BUT it seems you make things INFINITELY MORE difficult for artifacers than other crafts.

The 1.8 long over due but completely fail crafting update was the final nail in the coffin of Rift crafting.

Feedback prior to 1.8 was ignored.
Any hope for crafting to mean anything was destroyed.
Any ideas that Trion had realised it's a bad idea to think people will raid because you make it necessary, in every aspect of the game were proved wrong.

Some people need to hit rock bottom before it becomes obvious to change their ways.
For a game, rock bottom is too late.

I think it is too late for Rift now already.

They weren't new recipes for crafters. They were new recipes for raiders.

They should of made recipes for the 'special' ingredient in each recipe, makeable by the respective craft. Even if the recipe and mats for the 'rare' ingredient was pricey but at least obtainable, it would of been better than this stupidity.

Omg does that make sense lool.

Anywho I know what I mean, and I won't be wasting one damn plaque on any of them.

<-- 300 Artificer. I haven't even looked at the new recipes. Even with how incredibly easy the actual crafting process is (click to win, literally!), I know it's still not going to be worth the effort. Wake me up when they've done a complete redesign.
Oh, I know what's next... raid-dropped ingredients. Instead of clicking a vendor NPC, you have to click a crafter! Woot!

Oh that would never happen aux, imagine how cranky non-raiding crafters would be.

Trouble with Trion's crafting system is nothing is tied together. Buy all your mats from a vendor.

    Bad design.

A armorsmith should make a item which is used to make a weapon. For example.

    This makes trades worth doing.

Instead of I have 1 20 hour cooldown which is for the most part worthless to anyone but me. And crafting a item that's worthless if you can PuG GSB.

Should crafting net a game end item? I think you should be able to craft something very high end. Something that doesn't rain out of the sky.

There are very few crafted items leveling up that are worth 1 silver. You get and find better than you can ever craft. Bad design.

Crafted should be gear a bit better than anything you can get questing short of a 5 man drops. Or a very rare blue drop. Why Trion thinks crafting should be totally worthless (other than runes) leveling is beyond me.

IMO, runes and bags are about all crafting is good for so I do Outfitter or runecrafter, the rest are useless, you get better form drops and quests or vendors than you can craft.

What irks me is that I saved up just like you and the mats in our raids never go to rings. They suck compared to the rings off the 1ST BOSS. Why would we make the rings when the very 1st boss in ID drops better ones? Those mats go to weapons/boots. Not rings =(

Gems are rare? We got 50 of each in the guild bank and in the auction house they cost next to nothing..
I give all my salvage mats to to one of the armorers in the guild to make use items. I dont think the problem is that artificers make useless things, i think you should just work with other people more to trade usefull stuff.

Okay, most of the posts here has nothing to do with my original post. I know given a chance, Artificer will complain about the cruelty & frustration of our profession. 1.8 recipes are great...but no one is asking us to craft them. At least on my shard, not sure if anyone else are having issues with it.

And Trion, you took away 1-2 daily quests that we could get Crafter's Marks. I have rather those quests than the XP crystal. I can farm IA for that. Yes, you can farm crafting rifts, but it has to be your rift that you have a chance of getting a Mark...while IA is guarantee XP...and it's easier to get into a IA group than crafting rifts.

Final words: All 95 Crafter Marks and very little in return.
