Default FISHING - Master Trophy Angler Tracking Spreadsheet

Hey all, I made an excel spreadsheet to act as a tracking mechanism for the Master Trophy Angler (or any "fish caught" achievement.) It can also serve as a quick reference guide to fish location/depth.

You'll need to enable macros in order for the spreadsheet to function correctly. The macros aren't really doing anything except making the spreadsheet appear more tidy.

    Download link: http://bit.ly/Fish_Tracker

For those uncomfortable with allowing macros (I'm in IT security -- I understand), here is a no macro version. It has the same functionality as above, except all the "data sheets" are unhidden and thus cluttered.

    Download link (no macros): http://bit.ly/Fish_Tracker_NM

Please play with the spreadsheet and let me know what you think is good/bad. I made this mostly for me and my wife to more easily compare the Master Trophy achievement, but I spent too much time on it to not share!

    By the way, I'm beating her: 23/66 (34.8%) to 17/66 (25.8) !!

I can release a Google Docs version as well if requested.

Thanks to Myene of Byreil and Whitelady of Blightweald for compiling fish data and releasing their guide.

I'm seeing quite a few downloads, but no comments. Is anyone finding this useful?

    I'm up to 25/66 (37.9%) .... anyone getting close?

Thanks for putting this together. I just updated the file for where I'm at and I'm just behind you.

    A couple of suggestions

Remove the Lake of Solace. The fish in it just come from the three zones around it. There is nothing unique there.

Can you have the updates to each zone automatically update the All Fish list? Right now I select Cascadefish in Stonefield and then have to go to the master list and also put an x there.

I really thought about leaving out Lake of Solace for the reason you gave, but it's not hurting anything being there and there are definitely times that I would like to know if it would be more beneficial for me to fish there. For instance, if I only needed 3 more fish, it may be helpful to see that all 3 can be caught in the LoS at a quick glance.

As for the auto-update part, the spreadsheet is basically already doing this, but in reverse order. ALL of your updates should be made to the All Fish page, and then it will in turn populate the "complete" for that fish in each zone in which it can be caught. I thought this would be better for cases where the fish could be caught in 3 and even 4 different zones. You update it in 1 place, and then all the zones will show complete for that fish as well. In fact, it may not be a bad idea to lock the individual zones so they can't be manually updated as to avoid confusion.

Thanks for the input, it's really appreciated. I'm a stat guy, so it adds to the enjoyment for me to pull up a trophy fish, update the spreadsheet and watch the numbers grow

Obviously I should have gone to sleep instead of updating the file in the middle of the night because I apparently had an issue reading the directions, lol.

I've been using this. Altho, I was already keeping track of my progress before using the spreadsheet. It does make it easier for me. Just because I can fish from work. Shhhh... not so loud. ;p

Before I had to remember to bring my 'paper checklist' or remember to see what/where I had to fish. But now I just throw the xlm file onto my dropbox and update it without having to remember to update when I get home or whatnot.

Wow, that's awesome. You are getting really close. I wonder if anyone has the achievement yet?

I had a HUGE TROPHY streak last night. I'm only 2 fishes away from it now. I'm hoping I'll be lucky again and get them in my 'final' fishing marathon sometime later today.

BTW, there's an error in your spreadsheet. The 'All Fishes' should be /64. I was wondering why this morning I was still 'missing' some. I initially thought you doubling up on the Lake of Solace fishes. So a single fish was being counted twice. One in its native zone and again for Solace.

Since I'm missing 2 fishes and it reads 62 of 66. With 4 missing, which coincidentally doubles the 2 fishes I was still looking for.

Crap! You're right -- good catch. Well, should be an easy enough fix for those who already downloaded. It's just text within field B2 of 'All Fish'.... no calculations going on.

It's fixed now though for future downloads. Thanks for pointing it out, and grats on your lucky streak. Just curious, which ones are you missing?

Ive used the magnetic lures on and off and the results are inconsistent.

The last six magentic lures I used gave me four artifacts every time. The problem is it can be any artifacts (including trophy fish), so one time I fished up three trophy fish in ten minutes, and three other times zero, and many of the artifacts are from old sets that I don't want
