It's become increasingly clear that Trion is transitioning into a place where being Lv 50, at some good point, will be outright essential to do content.
We will see this. New zones will require Lv 50. Possibly a whole expansion worth of content will require max level characters.
I personally don't care, because the majority of gameplay, for me, is Lv 50 stuff. I level so damn fast in this game that there is no other option for me other than to turn off EXP gain. I do weekly and daily crafting, but only on this one character - I don't have multiple 'crafting alts' that only craft. In fact, I do every single form of gameplay other than hardcore raiding (so I'm not at Infernal Dawn, lol) or any actual PvP.
So I'm saying as someone who is sympathetic to what you want, but also not in your position - I don't think Trion will change things, in any big way, towards what you want, any time soon.
It will be ALL about the Lv 50 game, and investing in, at most, 1-2 alts. Not a whole family of alts to share crafting mats with, etc.
Do I like that? No...not really. It just doesn't affect me. It does affect you, and I wish there was a solution that Trion would take, but I don't know. Maybe they would, but I doubt it.
