Fishing recipe drop rate low/rng.

Drop rate is pretty high. I got half the important recipes just levelling up to 300, and so did most of my guildies. Everything for our raid needs covered, without really trying.

Some things could be more rare, IMO.

My experience was the same. When I hit 300 fishing I was missing three recipes, got one soon after, and another a couple of days ago so now I only need one which I can get off the AH if I have to.

I wrote that backwards ... the SP mats are cheaper.

As well they should be, casters have been penalized when it comes to pots for over a year in cost of mats for our Brightsurge vials. It's only fair that we get off cheaper this time.

2000 fish as per the achievement, not successful casts per the leaderboard. Since chests, artifacts and even grey items (thanks, raid lava!) seem to help the 'successful cast' stat, It's likely much higher.

But anyways, I haven't received *any* recipes. I'm not even hoping for the feast at this point. The only recipes I have received were either trained, quest reward (scarlet gorge & silverwood?), or bought.

Unless there was a change with the skill-up hotfix, 2000 Fish caught, as per the achievement, is the same as 2000 Successful attempts. When I hit 10,000 successful attempts, I also got my achievement for 10,000 fish caught.

I agree, and disagree (though, only halfheartedly). I disagree because I never understood the material difference for the vials.

It seems worse now because of how much demand there is for the feasts, and how little supply there is for the materials. It was very similar back in the days when the vials were first being made. Essences weren't nearly as common, and demand for vials was high. As time went on, essences started dropping from more places, and demand for them went down (lulls in raiding time, such as between GSB->ROS, ROS->HK, and HK->ID allowed for people to stockpile mats).

The same will happen with fish and feasts. It seems far worse right now then it will be in the very near future. Plus, anyone who wants the feasts mats can still gather them with more ease then casters could have targetedly farmed essences.
