AP Scaling and other DPS changes to the Warrior going up to PTS

Wow. Its like they are actually trying to improve the game rather then handing out random beatings any more. Wonder what lit the fire under their butt. It couldn't be other big releases on the horizon.

Now all they need to do is solve all the hours dedicated to "raiding" like another upcoming game will, with its pick up and scalable raids/encounters you don't need to dedicate 3-4 nights a week and can come and go as you desire. Sorry i can't go on a date w you to happy hr this wed ms hot chick... Lockout is wiped and its raid night! Lol.

So my question of the day is.... When will the PTS be getting updated already, I wanna test Icy Burst!!!!

I have a feeling after reading the horrible amount of QQ about 2H RW being "nerfed and destroyed" Atrius went on some horrible bender and is currently in a bathtub full of ice and missing a kidney.

im complaining because i don't wanna have to duel wield and i don't wanna have a stupid pet. only two specs i seen worth keeping on pts was :

40 champ 26 BM 0 rb = stupid pet
28 para 26 champ 2 rb = stupid duel wield

why would a warrior want either of those.
although only thing viable i found, 51 champ couldn't compete to the above.


why not share specs instead of saying the numbers your getting shun? goes for anyone that wants to talk crap...... SHARE UR SPEC if its so great.

So looking at everyones feedback, is it safe to say that ap scaling and str will be our main focus now instead of dex and crit? I haven't updated my source machine since pre-100 inscribed lessers was released. so looking at all the vendors would it be wise now to go for str/ap instead?

You will still want to be at the crit cap. So, whatever you have to do to reach that cap I would still do. If you can shift gear around to get more strength and maintain the cap, you should do it.

I have not seen any parses or numbers for anything but crit capped bis. The patch will certainly close the gap and make str gear more desired for high end players. I do think they should have implemented more % to str talents to widen the gap between str/dex.

Shun i was under the impression the 2 reaver build could not compete after the enhanced burst nerf to bf?

I wont be able to test diddly til this weekend.

The new enhanced burst coming next pts patch effects all elemental abilities that are non finishers so blood fervor (death damage ability) will be affected and work quite well.

PTS shard has been updated as well, DLing the patch now. Really looking forward to trying out Icy Burst and this Scald talent.

Slight bug atm, unsure if it's test or real, but Earth Burst logs damage as Icy Burst, but applies the snare under the name of Earth Burst correctly.

Also, not seeing any logged damage from the new Scald at all, despite having it trained.

Scald's damage is being listed as the damage of the ability you used Icy Burst on. But if you turn on ability icons on the combat text you'll see the Scald icon and the damage amount definitely is more in line with Scald than say Searing Strike.

I noticed that as well. Its seemed to have some wild damage swings which I couldn't pin down. Sometimes it'd crit for 500+, sometimes for significantly less (almost half as much). It was almost like it was showing up as a crit without getting the crit multiplier.

Anyhow, some quick 2 min parses I did w/ vendor Relic gear bag

51 Champ/10/5 - 2800
43/23 2h - 2850
51 RB/15 para - 2650

Well Scald's damage is based off of Icy Bursts damage. So if IB's damage is varying due to crit or debuffs due to the amount of people testing on PTS, that would change it.

I've been trying out 51 Champ/13 RB/2 Reaver and been looking pretty good so far.

RW still worthless in the old para 2h build,
RW +wotw still worse than DS+DG+wotw in any dw build, only redeeming feature is that it crit more often due to paired strike.

all GCD finishers (Punishing blow, bladefury, Reaping harvest) are still worthless when FB/IB/EB does something like 3k+- dmg while beeing OGCD.

all in all, every problem u tried to fix in the last update, DIDNT WORK.
