New T2 RR Greater?? Combusting Essence
Hey I recently saw this item, and am seeking info about it.
Combusting Essence. T2 Fire Raid Rift
"Physical attack abilities have a chance of dealing an additional 240 fire damage."
While the Rekindled Flameshard from T1 Fire RR was a 200 on proc with 75 more DoT, it was known to have a painfully dull proc rate.
Does anyone have more information about this? Someone in my guild said that if it added up to more than 25 DPS it would be worth it.
Anyone? Thoughts? :O
Picked one up yesterday, played with it for a short parse on the dummy. approx 4% proc rate, and DPS came in just over 22.

22 dps is around trinket dps right?
How much does a raw stat BiS lesser translate into DPS-wise?
I'd really be curious if that new Greater is worthwhile because my guild has had it drop 3-4 times now.

If it's only 22 dps, it's a wash. Convention says the whole sigil full of lessers is worth 150 dps at the current raid tuning. That's 25 per lesser. You could argue that at a certain stat value, only novel gains of damage like this greater essence boosts your dps by significant amounts...but you'd certainly have to prove it.
It'd take a 10 minute parse on the dummy at least.
Essentially it doesn't look like it matters what you put, so long as you put something level 50 and purple in the slot. Trion's afraid of greater essences. No idea why they're so timid.
It needs 20 fire resist anyway...dunno why greaters don't have resist if they're not making up for it and never have.
