When rogues become the FoTM either rogues will get nerfed or warriors / other callings will get buffed. It's a never ending cycle of balance.
Interpreting the patch notes about wanting rogues = warriors in terms of pvp threat to mean warriors will be garbage is kinda funny.

Rogues need their day in the sun. I wouldn't even feel too badly if they had a ParaChamp/1.2 Pyro patch for a few weeks. They've had to bend over and just take it on so many fronts (or should I say...backs hehehe)

Meh I don't like to see Warrior negativity, but all these little things Trion is doing as a whole can add up to quite a bit. Things are not looking good if they continue this way.
As far as rogues are concerned, I want them to be balanced, but I also feel that the average rogue is nowhere near as good or knowledgeable as they should be. I know some AMAZING rogues and I know what the rogue class is capable of from seeing them in action. Balancing around a mass of sheeple that refuse to learn to play their class well somehow doesn't seem proper. We saw it with mages who complained to have trouble and suddenly they were so powerful they had to be nerfed, all in the same month. Mages continue to complain yet recent videos show them fighting entire groups off, even in a supposedly "nerfed" state.
Clerics remain strangely......... quiet ;)

You mispelled warrior at the beginning of the sentence. Seriously, rogues have been almost a joke in WFs and really only have a couple of viable PvE specs. Trion gives us a buff to make up for it and all the warriors rage quit? There isn't a class in the game that hasn't complained about warriors, with your 1-2 button macros that explode everything within a mile while flying under the nerf radar. You're all quitting because the playing field is evened out, perhaps you need to go play Diablo in God Mode instead, that will make you feel cool.
have you all seen the new rogue heal debuffs? it makes LW look underpowered. In addition to buffed damage every rogue in pvp will be healing themselves quite a bit.

This, with what im reading, warriors will be the only class without any reliable self-heals, and sins will get even more rediculous if slipaway stays as is. Oh and the new healdebuff for rouges sounds boarderline rediculous (spread it by aoe and lol as you have half the other teams healing)
I thought I read somewhere that fan out didn't AoE apply the heal debuff, it was only to the single target. It's not a completely "reliable" heal, and it shouldn't affect warrior vs. rogue fights much. The nightblade heal feels needed though to remain even closely competative vs. a warrior in a toe to toe fight (this is people with 44+ in NB, no slip aways for them). Last time I fought a p8 warrior on my p8 NB/BD I used 4 different 2-minute CD's and had him to 50% before I died--there was no hope or any chance of RNG gods letting me even come CLOSE to winning that fight with the tools currently available to a 44nb/22bd.

Have to realize they are buffing damage along with this new debuff (which I havent seen anything on making it non-aoe) and that it does affect rouge vs war due to trinket and essence proccs, but its more the wf/group pvp aspect im looking at. Will have to see though (if its single target only now, it might do ok) but as a defensive leaning player (I like average defence/average damage type builds) I would really like some defensive cooldowns in my builds other than 10 min full heal and 30 sec 1 miss.
They're not buffing rogues, they're nerfing bloodthirsty procs.

From a PvE point of view, I really hope the Rogue buffs give me a reason to dust off my Rogue. I keep up with Rogue chatter and new builds that people come up with, but I just don't like to play my Rogue. I like melee classes and as far as Rogue spec options go right now, I can't stand Sabdancer, Melee Ranger is dumb (and I don't like pets) and everything else doesn't really compare dps-wise. The only other melee options are lower dps specs involving sin/bd/nb which don't come close to the other 2 specs I just mentioned.
I gave up on PvP on this game a long time ago, so I have no input for that area of the game, but as far as PvE goes, I really would like some actual "normal" specs. To me Sabdancer is not "normal" and not what you would expect as a rogue spec. It is a saboteur relying on Deadly Dance with a funky rotation to pull top rogue dps. Melee Ranger is not what most people would consider to be a "normal" rogue spec either. It's a melee spec with a pet that you have to go in and out of melee range to play...
I first started Rift as a Rogue and almost quit playing Rift because of it. I found all the melee souls of Rogue to be amazing...but their damage was not amazing in comparison to current fotm rogue specs or to other classes unless you're a really good player (and I am). I just couldn't stand the fotm specs we had/have to choose from. I even tried out ranged and didn't like it, so I turned to Warrior and never looked back. Hopefully with this next patch I can finally look back, play my rogue again and give me something to do besides play my warrior that is already an end-game raider.
