New Warrior - Help Plan Ahead...

Hey All,

Only a week into the game but loving it. I'm a FFXI veteran so I'm familiar w/ MMORPG mechanics, but I'm enjoying learning the new interface and specifics of the game.

Okay, currently have one character, a warrior, current souls are paladin / riftblade / reaver

I haven't quested any other souls, role, or my PvP soul yet...

I'm looking for advice on where to go from here. I enjoyed tanking and damage-dealing in FFXI, and that suites my tastes. I know overall warrior's fine for me. I've tried PvP and like it, but I'm completely getting my *** handed to me.

Do you have any recommendations for what Roles I should look to build up in the future? I'll leave it open ended and see what comes back

I'd say get your other souls, get a few levels and buy your extra roles and start messing around with builds.

Use the one you like.

Pretty much what Kruunch said.

Quest for your other souls and then start trying out tanking and dps builds. Your 2nd role is fairly cheap (30 gold?) but after that it's almost 4 plat then...25 plat?

At low level I have one tank build and one dps build (in the 30s I got another role and made a solo/tankish build, as well). Anyway, with those 2 roles, you can fiddle with souls to see what you like and what suits you best. Just keep in mind that not all souls are created equal.

Be sure to check out some guides on these forums. I've found them pretty useful.

Thanks both for the reply! That's actually sort of the general advice I was looking for, just to make sure I wasn't completely off base with how I go about building and trying things I'll focus next on getting all my souls including the PvP one, then get at least one other role, and see how things go. Thanks again!
