    Unhappy squishy tanking question

I'm getting complaints from healers that I'm too squishy when tanking.
All my gear is relatively at level and I'm using ciderhelm's leveling build.

Any ideas on what I could try doing to be less squishy?

I'm keeping dots up, using all the right buffs and being correct in my rotation on the guide.

You may find yourself better off with Kruunch's mitigation build until you get some more gear, then go deeper into VK/paladin and pick up warlord instead of reaver for more solid AOE agro later on.

It takes some practice to get used to aoe threat from calls, but 26paladin/24vk/16 warlord has been my go to tanking build for quite a while to reliably hold agro over raid geared overzealous DPS while still having acceptable mitigation. Instead of healers complain i'm squishy, they complain of being bored.

    Alternatives:

http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0c...E0Rhoo.xE0V0zM (15% more magic resistance, 8% damage reduction from Warlord, less CC, vs casters only)

    Usual Rotation:

    - Shield Charge > Ragestorm > Promise of Steel > Call to Entrench > Aggressive Block > Empowering Strike > Sweeping Strike > Spotter's Order

    Skills:

    - Aggressive Block + Empowering Strike for buffs
    - Ragestorm + Promise of Steel + Sweeping Strike for AOE damage/aggro
    - Call to Entrench + Spotter's Order for buffs/MASSIVE AOE aggro

    - Pact Conversion to keep my stacks on max all the time
    - Catalyze on casters for extra damage reduction

    Disables:

    - Disarming Counterblow + Weapon Blow (5sec weapon disarm)
    - Light's Hammer (3sec ranged stun, good if your taunts are on CD)
    - Pin Target + Locked Down (Healer struggling to keep you alive, root and move away from the melee mob/group)
    - Face Slam (Cast Interrupt, MUST have on some bosses)

    Utility:

    - Spellbreaker (Dispells 3 spells, 35m range)
    - Spell Sunder (Removes up two 3 buffs on an enemy, MUST have on some bosses, ALSO WORKS AS A 35m RANGE PULL)

    Macros:

    #1 Ressurection

    #2 Intercept

    #3 Spotter's Order

Try this, tho I changed my build a bit and it's even better:

I soled the first boss in Ap for 2 min, after my group died, long enough for the healer to run back in.

Thanks for the advise I'm level 31ish now.
I'll take a look at the few of the options you posted.

Any other advise is still welcomed.

Check my sig for a heavy mitigation build, rotation and macros.

At 31 you're still going to be a bit squishy, but that's to be expected.

Once you hit 50 I recommend using Kruunch's build (his sig as posted above) it's an absolute beast build. Huge mitigation, huge threat. it's actually sort of boring these days

Or just go 51 Void Knight, which is higher damage reduction and higher Threat.

At this phase in your career 18 VK and rest in Pally.

I use Krunch's build at 50. It rocks.

Kruunch's build at 50 is great mitigation, but low threat. The one warrior in our raid using it as standard has noticably lower threat than the other two, who run builds with warlord in them.

It is great when you start out with weak gear, but not perfect later on as default build in raids.

Not sure why. Ragestorm and Tempest are near-taunts. + Dot spread. + Sweeping Strike. + Cleave.

Warlord must have some serious threat!

Will not comment on whether it is an ideal Raid build, but for T2's its fine. Clearly, threat would be more of an issue on Raids. But its a decisively tanky build.

WL's are going to have better threat yes (makes sense ... it's one of that soul's primary tools). However, my build doesn't have *low* threat. Most everyone who has run into threat problems with my build is of the snap agro variety, which is just lazy playing and/or not learning/understanding the build's main form of threat gen(DOTs).
