Really, you guys want to derail an entire other thread with me saying rogues are good, and you saying rogues are bad? We don't agree, let it go.

What's the title of this thread? Then list them. Don't state OPINIONS based on your raids. State facts.

FACT - Rogues are energy starved

FACT - AE damage is lacking compared to other callings.

Don't interject opinions... Which are wrong may I add.
The first issue I would like feedback on is the Power Regeneration. I have tweaked it to a point but I need feedback on it from actual players (You guys) in a real world environment to fine tune it. The value is not final and will likely need to be changed. The goal is to minimize the use and need for Tablets and make players who do not use them more viable without completely removing the use of the Tablets in game

And this is why you should not be allowed to create threads. That entire paragraph is utter BS. Not opinion, FACT. Allowing it to stand hurts anything you are "trying" to accomplish.

Nearly all your posts contain bellicose language to some extent or another so I would argue that any time you post you are far more likely to hinder the progress of rogues than any other in this forum.

If non-eloquent language hinders rogues from being fixed, I'd argue the dev is very petty and childish himself, wouldn't you?

As long as constructive arguments are made (See Beckmann posts), I don't see why changes shouldn't be made. They have support based on tested rotations. I am 90% sure many rogues here would point out if something was overpowered. But it seems most changes are underpowered.

Basically what I'm saying is it does not matter if he provides feedback by yelling or by posting hard numbers... I do not see changes occur based on how feedback was received.

FACT- Rogues are also top ST DPS (though clerics can be close right now)

    Good stuff, you made it.

Here's some things I'd add that's soul specific:

    Ranger bugs:
    - delay on improved trick shot gaining additional combo points
    - having to macro petattacks
    - energy starvation while aoeing

    Bladedancer bugs:
    - aoe is too low. It shouldn't be capped at 5 targets, it should be brought up to 8 to be standardized with other classes to be competitive. Right now MM is higher aoe from range.

    Sin concerns:
    - need to improve higher sin, so there's a reason to go higher then 32 points in assassin

    Nightblade:
    - needs a slight dps increase to be competitive in pve

    MM:
    - missing something... it's like if only electrified munitions was buffed by the 4 piece HK crystal by an additional 20% and quick shot proced electrified twice... it would be right where it needs to be
I rite a gooded guide for rouges.

As to not derail the thread, I will say that another big rogue issue is lack of dev communication. This really is a rogue issue. No other calling has an across the board silence in regards to all issues/concerns/bugs.

I don't mind if Daglar answers/addreses concerns, but someone needs to. Prime example of this issue is every other calling has a feedback post on the PTS forum regarding 1.8 changes/issues. Ours is in the rogue forum.

Just a bit "inconsistent" compared to the other 3 callings.

First of all, well put thread. Encompasses the fixes needed without whining incessantly about wanting more buffs. Very informative.

Macro'ing pet attacks is not a bug. It is a form of control.
If your pet was set to aggressive, you never have to macro pet attacks. But then it runs out of control.
Setting a pet to passive + macro'ing petattack was in order to control what it does. Not a bug.
    working as indended.

MM could definitly use a fix to EM. Better suggestions have been made, a flat 20% buff would be bad. Simply reduce it's flat damage and replace it with a scaling off of AP mechanic. this way gear progression would continue to scale well for for MMs in the next tier level.

FACT - BS requires both position requirements AND being able to teleport and not die/get tail swiped.

Do clerics have those restrictions in their top dps spec? If BS is top dps and that is your flat out blanket statement with zero qualifiers, show me your BS parse on Akylios. Show me a clerics parse on it compared to your BS one? Who's top dps now?

Gyle also stated in #3 that Bloodstalker should be reworked to allow use on any/most encounters without those drawbacks. He isn't simply saying Bloodstalker is 'fine,' just as of now, it is the best single target spec in the game on encounters that cater towards it.

Eloquence is not the issue so you clearly do not understand what bellicose means. Look it up.

Petgroup's posts only serve to decrease the signal to noise ratio in any threads where the desired point is positive progress. Why would someone want to sift through 4 tons of refuse to find 2 grams of gold?

To get back to the intent of the thread I don't endorse massive changes to energy regen because energy for rogues is a method of throttling the damage in the same way that a global cooldown is. If your DPS is competitive then what does it matter if we operate energy starved? If the current energy regeneration rate excludes certain builds for viability (and it is for some) then it needs to be addressed there.

Changes like a 300 point pool of energy and 27/s regen (this was recommended in another thread) is clearly too big a step and would almost certainly result in a subsequent nerf and further outcry from the community.

My opinion is that a certain amount of energy should be refunded when a rogue crits. How much would need to be determined by testing and balanced against the upcoming content.

Petgroup's Strafe bug is only in his mind as it doesn't happen for me nor any rogues I know.

Fire resist cores are not quite as bleak as Gyle made out. The 2 bis lessers do come with raw AP although they are crit heavy and depressing when we look at how much AP we lose from our standard DPS sigil.

Progression fights are about survivability so you can experience as much as the mechanics as possible and then tweak your gear if you have overcompensated for survivability at the expense of damage. I'm not concerned that my FR sigil loses me significant AP because I know I will be able to change or make it up with other gear later.

This might be the case, as neither i nor another rogue in my guild have been able to reproduce this. He even made a macro while i was tanking that was /assist Gyle ... /cast strafe and used it for an entire instance and not once had it put up CP's and not do damage.

This is true, which is why i tried not to focus too much on the resist cores themselves and tried to focus on the larger issue which is that every rogue in this game is crit capped (Hyperbolic, yes). That's the real problem, it's just underscored by the fire resist cores.

I have seen this happen, but I haven't played much the past few weeks due to RL. They may have patched a fix in, or there may just be a step I'm not remembering. Either way I'll try it this weekend and see if I can recreate it if someone has not already done so.

Great. You just made me depressed.

The best fire resist essence, Combustible Essence from the T2RR, is 14th BIS with 24.7 AP and 52.4 crit. Second up is Searing Gem from that T2RR, 22nd BIS with 22.6 AP and 57.2 crit. Below are the top 6 FR essences.

    Code:
Str Dex AP Crit >1187 Lesser Planar Essence AP Crit FR
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    0 28 10 23 59.88 Combustible Essence 24.7 52.40 18
    0 24 10 32 56.64 Searing Gem 22.6 57.20 18
    26 17 0 21 52.92 Infernal Shard 22.58 38.85 18
    27 15 0 26 52.45 Smoldering Flare 22.05 41.75 19
    13 25 0 33 51.75 Burning Flare 19.95 59.25 19
    19 14 0 28 43.19 Smoldering Spark 17.33 42.70 16
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    85 123 20 163 316.83 TOTAL 129.21 292.15 108
To put that in perspective, the 6/6 all-WR sigil provides 183.98 AP, and straight BIS is 210.73. I really do hope that new essences do show up between here and ID.
If I had something interesting to say, it probably would have been in the post. [4/4 ~ 4/4 ~ 5/5 ~ 80]

The closest thing to this bug I've seen is p1 Aky I'll strafe Jonaru and then target an add to focus it for interupt. I'll see the combo points build on Jon while the numbers actually pop up on the add. That's probably just how rolling combat works I assume the intended target is still taking the damage.
