Here's an idea to fix Saboteur a bit and make bombs useful...

What is Detonate? How is it even doing damage? The charges blow up to do the damage. It makes no sense. And what are we using to detonate the charges? Some sort of machine? Isn't that against the Guardian lore?

Let's do things this way: Scrap Detonate. Make bombs FINISHERS. Makes sense; Toss a bomb at the charges to blow them up. Much cooler, makes more sense, makes bombs useful, and gives Sabo true finishers like the other callings.

As for traps? I have no clue. But bombs as finishers makes the most sense.

Annihilate does that actually right now if you talent for it. A better idea would be to make it all bombs. That would be nifty.

Yeah, it's an idea that should have been expanded from the start, though. Making our damaging bombs finishers is a perfect way to deal with the useless bomb situation. As it stands even with Annihilate talented it's still pretty useless.

Remove Concussion charge, too. Give us a flash bang or something.

The proble with that, is that other then Annihilation Bomb & Fragmentation Bomb, none of the other bombs are instant cast/instant effect. Time Bomb has a delay, Chenical Bomb is aoe, Choking Gas Bomb is aoe effect, and Adhesive Bomb is aoe effect. To implement your idea, they would have to change all bombs to instant effect, and remove those rediculous targeting circles................

If they were to change the bombs, then I would be all for this proposed idea.

only problem with that is sometimes it is nice to toss a CGB at a pack of casters on the other side of the fight from your primary target, or toss an adhesive towards your back line to help your casters/healers kite.

I'd say just change detonate into a bomb, our current bombs are quite useful. If anything, I'd say make an improved adhesive bomb that combines the effect of chemical bomb with adhesive, and perhaps a more survival/defensive bomb to replace chemical bomb. I had suggest a smoke bomb in another thread, but perhaps it be a self centered smoke cloud for 5 seconds to break focus fire on yourself and give you a chance to escape.

I was speaking about damaging bombs. Stuff like Adhesive and Choking would remain as they are.

If anything they should make charges have 25% diminshing returns but put good debuffs on the people as the tear off an arm or load a leg full of shrapnel, then it won't be major QQ as they set up 15+ charges and level an entire team after tossing in one bomb (wich actually wouldn't be too imbalanced after the whole Storm caller buff...)

Land Mines and Traps should be a bit more effective as well, as you need to set them up and all and it's pretty class defining, together with bombs and charges..

I'd also expect some sort of stealth and some soul specific stealth openers, maybe (modified?) trap/mine/charge placing during the stealth, or whatnot.. That'd totally fit the general idea of the soul. Maybe have some sort of Decoy/minor Illusion you could place

Would give Saboteur pvp a little more depth IMO

Land mines and traps are terrible, in PvE and PvP. Once they removed them critting that was the end of them totally. Sabs need a better 31 pt skill cause this one is completely worthless.
