I'll try to get into using hotkey, at least for cadence.

I don't play WoW much but how do people "circle" me? I tried to do with my very lowbie beastmaster and it hurts my hand doing that so much using mouse for "head movement". lol

Are there any tricks? Do those people use mouse to click and move and use hotkeys to attack? It's hard to "circle" somebody using WASD...at least for me.
The trick is to remap your A and D keys from turning left/right to strafe left/right respectfully. Then you hold right mouse button while pressing either A or D to "steer". Moving like this will allow you to kite pursuers because while you're running away, "looking over your shoulder", you still have LoS to cast abilities

There is other way, if you have a side button or middle button that you never use it in RIFT. you can bind it to Cadence. Just put Cadence in the hot key and bind it with secondary key using mouse button. BAM, you have Cadence bind to your mouse button. I used this solution for my Sab rogue by binding one of my mouse button to Detonate and it work well. You can try that

To get higher in Ranger for Dire Wolf/Razor, my healing sucks (mainly because I can't have Coda of Restoration and my Cadence's damage is low without Nightstalker's passives).

Has anyone tried Bard/Ranger and like it? At first, I thought it's nice to provide healing and buffs while my pet attacks but pet's damage is pathetically low.
What I know that Bard don't have great dps because it have the ability to do 100% heal based on the damage of Cadence. So It recommended Ranger because Ranger pet is like tank. so you use their pet to tank the mob that you are attacking. Generally pet's dps is always low. On what RIFT recommendation is just purely for PVE purpose.

Keep in mind, that won't work well for Cadence since Cadence is channeled ability. He need something to keep himself alive longer

Ok thanks for the tips. I need to change A and D key to see how that works. I just find it hard to "face" the warrior or rogue that keeps circling me. I tried to jump backward (walking backward is so slow especially when I am snared) but a lot of times they still end up being "behind me".

I do realize that once the channel goes off, it still works even if the attacker is behind me.

I tried to play with Bard/Ranger build a bit. I am only lvl 30 so there's only so many points I can satisfy both paths. I don't like it. I end up having low Cadence damage (low healing) and low pet damage. Maybe I put too many points in Ranger for now (I tried to get Dire Wolf but the wolf really sucks in pve as the healing debuff means very little atm).

While lvling I'd just run some combo of MM/NB or MM/Sin for pvp.

When I bard in warfront, which is rare since I'm pr8, I use Bard/Rift/Ranger. I have 8pts in ranger in the build for 6% dmg reduction (equal to 150valor which was great prior to pr6 and the gear change). Still good since as a bard you are pretty much standing on the front line strumming cadence. Having ranger is also good for when your 3-5pt target takes off running(Headshot), building up combo pts while heading into 20m range, and the AP buff is nice.

I have never once brought out the pet. Something else to manage and who the hell wants to re-summon the crappy wolf every 20 seconds.

You have to decide what you are doing in a warfront. If you are healing/buffing, go right at it and focus on that. If you are trying to do dmg, don't have bard in the spec at all.

If you are doing for solo pve and want a fast leveling, try a different spec and use Bard for PVP and dungeon. MM/Ranger work well together. If your rogue is your first character, you can buy additional role for different spec like one will be bard and other will be for solo pve. Try it out

I took for granted that most people macro cadence together with power cord so they can generate CPs while on the move or stationary

    Personally I have:

    #show Power Cord
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Cadence
    cast Power Cord

So if you're standing still you get Cadence, if you're running around you cast Power Cord

Oh my, macro in this game is this sophisticated? I need to try more later. So you type all those codes in macro screen?

One question. If you are using your left hands for clicking WASD and mouse for "steering", how do you click your abilities? Use Number 1, 2, 3, 4?

    And you macro 1, 2, 3, 4 for a sequence of attacks?

First of all....never, ever, ever, ever click. Ever.

I use A/F for left/right strafing. No need for forward or backward bindings (toggle auto-run to move forward or press both mouse buttons for short moves...and you never need to go backward really).

D for cadence/power chord macro, S for Coda debuff, SHIFT+S for 2nd Coda debuff (my shift button is on my mouse). QWERT for my motifs. 3 Rift Prison, SHIFT + 3 for single target Verse stun, SHIFT + E for AOE Verse stun.

    Works quite well!

Ok, I've been reading about macro for Motifs. I tried putting the first 3 in macro but only the first one is cast?

Which hand do you click the "shift" key? Right hand? And you use left hand for clicking keyboards ?

What does this #show mean in macro?

    My macro:

    Heal
    #show Verse of Vitality
    cast Verse of Vitality
    cast Coda of Restoration
    cast Motif of Regeneration

    Turbo
    #show Virtuoso
    cast Virtuoso
    cast Rift

    CP
    #show Power Chord
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Power Chord
    cast Cadence

I dont understand which you use Power Cord after Cadence :O

I use PC first befor you need 5 CP for finisher. Cadence give you 3-5 CP. When you use first PC after C you have always 5 CP.
