    not correct.

put precision first then BS then puncture. after every deadly strike your have enough energy for a 40 energy style without waiting. if you pay attention you can parse very high with the one button macro at the dummy.

for the dummy even better is

    prec
    puncture
    bs.

use prec in one rotation, puncture in the next. bs will follow as second or third style, so still benefits from DD and your 2cps go off after DS because of combat eff.

    for raid i use

    prec
    bs
    puncture

~1750 at pluto without relics. and 26 rg for hasten call ;P

Got to try out 26Rng for Raid-Rift-Spam-Night-Athon and it did a lot better than my 31Rng spec. With Improved Trick Shot, and Hasten Call. The AoE was actually very good as well. On the entire last stage with the 4 Foci + Last boss, I ended the parse at 1850 over 5:30 parse.

I'm not so anti-Backstab now as I was before . Hasten Call was def worth it since I died a lot too and the wolf is slow to run away from AoE Tail Swipes >_> <_<.

    My macro was setup using:

    Prec
    Punc
    Backstab
    rest

There were times where I'd use all 3 during a Deadly Dance cycle, but it didn't hurt my DPS that much in the long run (maybe ~10?). I think I may make a back-up 1 CP and 2CP macro on my '9' '0' and '-' keys to try and prevent that.

    Thanks for the build!

The only question i have is how did you get your pet parsing at 100+ dps? I must be doing something wrong on the dummy because min is only doing 10...

10 DPS? Did you turn off autocast on its attacks and forget to macro the attacks into yours?

    Is your pet level 50?

If the wolf looks awesome, it's the L34 version.

If it's diseased, it's the good L50 greater version.

DS -> trick shot is also a nice ae combo.

I'm trying out your build but I'm parsing 800-1k with this. I have what I think his a 600 AP and 800 crit self buffed, with a t2 dagger and a trash mob t3 dagger. Am I doing anything wrong with the rotation?

Another is you didn't include blade tempo; when is it the best time to use?
Also, your macro includes Reprisal, but your build didn't spend points to get it. Is your macro or your posted build wrong?

Quick dumb question, since I never used this spec but now I'm willing to try it...
It's a melee ranger spec, does this mean that you are going to stay melee everytime?
Do you have to back up sometime during the fight (to use a certain skill)?
Basilcally is it a full melee spec or an in&out spec?

    Thanks in advance

EDIT: what about "Expose weakness" do you use it during the fight or it's going to be a dps loss?

The spec is a 99% melee spec. You want to use Head Shot once every 60 seconds for the buff it gives. Head Shot (and all range attacks) can be used at the far edge of melee range (melee and ranged ranges overlap slightly).

As far as expose weakness: you never use it in this spec, except as a prep ability before you start the fight.

At what gear tier does this spec start to outpace the other options? I've been running the other melee ranger build and I'm debating between that, this, and optionally the BD/Sab build, but my gear situation is somewhere between awful and really awful, so I'm just trying to gauge a transition point.

A guildmate was trying this in P5/T2 gear and it seemed to be outperforming the raptor melee ranger build so that's what got me wondering. ;)

I hear the spec really takes off when you stop camping Stonefield zone borders and farming artifacts.

It's also very good in raids and less good without Spotter's Orders and other raid buffs.

Melee Sab gains huge benefits from energy buffs and slightly less benefits from Spotter's Orders.

i am not afraid of using more then 3 or 4 buttons in a rotation... can anyone give me some tips for how to adjust hoko's build to increase dps but give up the 1 button mash? do i need to adjust spec at all? is it simply just seperating the 1 and 2cb abilities so you're not consuming a 2 when you already have 4?
the beatings will continue until morale improves
