Default Looking for guidance on dps issue

I have read up alot on dps and rotations due to ignorant people telling me I suck and making a fun game not so fun. Now I have a 51pyro/lock and in expert dungeons, depending on which dungeon, average 1.2k-2k and guess what I still have people telling me I suck. lol I'm getting tired of it. So if someone could be kind enough to tell me is this really bad dps? What does everyone expect? I am in starter purple gear from plaques of achievement. Good enough to get in experts. Trying my hardest to make everyone happy or at least be quiet and nothing works. Any advice FROM DECENT PEOPLE PLZ would be good. If you are one of those expecting everyone to have killer gear and do 4k dps or whatever it is you expect plz do not reply to my post but anyone else I'd really appreciate a little guidance here.

For t2's 1.2k is more than acceptable. People forget the old days when there was no such thing as HK gear and you would be lucky to get people that knew the fights, now its all about doing the whole dungeon in under 10 minutes so they can go back to sitting in town afk until raid time. Don't listen to random *******s, make sure the game is fun for you before you go trying to please everyone else.

As a reference I can usually do around 2k self buffed(although I'm a cleric so take that how ever you want it) and I have pretty much no need for experts, i just run them to get the infernal marks. Honestly as long as people know the fights and do more than 750 dps I'm happy.

you need about 800-1k dps to do experts. if you do 1.5-2k in experts your doing great and those people are trolling you and trying to piss them off, ignore them and try for guild runs. i love having a large guild =)

Ok thank you very much. Glad to hear it. I'll just go back to ignoring them. Best way to not have to worry about it. I appreciate it. Thanks again.

Honestly 800- 1k dps is what you used to need for t1 raids. People seem to forget about when they didn't have gear.

i'm pretty sure experts were designed for sub 1k dps.

You are doing pretty good dps right now. But i'm pretty sure if you went with like a 36/30 pyro/lock build you could be able to do more. There are guides in the mage forums and in other places online.

But ANYONE complaining about someone in dungeon gear ONLY pulling 1.2k dps are just *******s who act like they have always done 3k+ dps. Keep it up you're doing well.

Is that 1.2k - 2k single target or AoE? 1.2k single target is pretty close to where you should be if you're going into DH/GP with just expert dungeon gear.

Back before HK came out and the dungeons were tiered, 500-700dps was considered good for ST Dps. You are doing more than enough for the content, and the only flack you would be getting is from some tools who expect you to pull raid level numbers in dungeon gear. That being said, either 36/30 pyro/lock or sc/pyro are my go-to specs to plow through dungeons.
