I figured a few things were wrong, as the modeling wasn't quite accurate when I was testing last night, and i see where i misplaced a decimal place on neddra's influence. I also thought that all bonuses were moved from multiplicative to additive, regardless of the source, so all buffs would be added together and then all debuffs added together. I'll have to test that tonight, but you may be right and they never changed that. Lastly, I now see where I made the mistake of 1 stack vs 3 stacks. It is obvious to me now that the damage is calculated based on 1 stack and then multiplied by how many stacks there are. Appreciate the help. Spreadsheet updated!

And I concur that Shaely's parse is indeed not legit after running all the numbers. It is impossible to hit the numbers he was hitting at our gear level without manipulating synergy crystals.

Should I not hit Flame bolt X3 when it procs?

yeah keep the flame bolts, and use them for when your combust is falling off. only has 66% chance to combust but it still works better than fireball. In 36/30 you can use flame bolt to reapply combust more reliably but its still not too bad in 38/28. Its all about keeping your dots up without clipping.

As you can see it was a long one, most of the time I was between 3170 and 3185, dropped a fraction when I stopped casting to turn off combatlog.

With nearly same stats i hit 3.2k+ (and should be higher, with more and more time on dummy im sure i can hit 3.3k more consistently )

best way to improve is to just dissect your ACT breakdown.. not enough CDs ? dot uptime? try to tighten up DoT refreshes, combust < 8% of dmg? less Cinder more fireball / spread out wildfires etc

IE: if your using Shaeyls block rotation, than be very aware of the priority window, if its <3s> than only hard cast 1 fireball, dont try to squeeze in a 2nd ( Draining bolt / wildfire / saved opportunity proc is win here ), may not seem like alot but that 1 second over 5 minutes = an extra Countdown, same goes for the <4s> and <2s> windows
you'll want to aim for atleast 33+ CD's in a 5minute parse window

The rotation is very easy for 38/28, the difference comes between how you manage the priority windows and your opportunities. I've seen an alt go from 2.4k > 3k on a dummy parse just by putting in 2 hours practicing.

I have done a few 5m parses but I have reached 3100 on a decent try thats with 2115 SP self buffed. NO powerstones/consumables, no de-buffs on the target dummy either. I reached 4.8k last night on ithuziel i think 5k may be possible soon just need some gear upgrades and need to swap trinkets!

Just to clarify, I was only using 2/3 Burning Fury since this is an Ituziel spec, so add on an extra ~25 dps from the extra point.

I think I'm probably doing the opposite of what Hadezz suggests and hardcasting 2 Fireballs in a 3s window occasionally, I just don't know what else to do if there are no Wildfire/Opportunity procs and Draining Bolt is on cd.

I am using Shaeyl's block rotation for the record, but I'm sure I could be doing better. I am trying to space my Fireballs/Flame Bolts as much as possible without allowing Life Leech to drop.

I could say my latency is playing a difference, but that is a weak excuse so I'd rather find something I can improve.

Holy crap you have a high SC. What gives? I have about the same SP but about 100 less SC. Can't you trade off some of that SC for SP? You are over cap before raid buffs...

Well the <3s> window only happens once every 32 seconds so Draining bolt should be up every time
another thing is to keep track of your opportunities,

say your while applying your main block of dots you get 2 opp,
<FB,CD,SV,Def,OPP,DT,OPP> you no longer have a <2s> priority window so you'd go straight for VB
or say you get 1 during short block
<fb,cd,sv, OPP> than your window is only 3 seconds and you have to adjust, it won't always be the 2,3 or 4 seconds

takes a lot of practice and easy to lose your touch even going a few days w/o hitting up the dummy

hard casting 2 fireballs is not the worse thing just an example of how its easy to through off a very tight rotation

but the rotation itself flows much better with raid buffs and hard casting 2 Fireballs during the 3s window is much more forgiving with the cast speed increases

It's after soft-cap, but you should probably keep it in mind while gearing up to raid. Crit will come naturally with upgrades from the int on gear.
