that helps me out a lot actually thank you. means i need to practice a bit more and keep dialing in the spec.
quick question though do you have you PS stacks up already before you parse or do you build them on the dummy? i typically build them on the dummy as a part of the parse.

yeah for sure. biggest problem i have right now is i clip my dots here and there and miss some void bolts to refresh LL. just getting use to the timing.
For those interested:
For Combust to crit at 973 per tick, the following scenario must be true:
3245sp at the time of 3x Combust Proc:
- Must have ~11/13 Pre-Maelforge BiS ID Slots with Blade of the Flameseeker/Word of Pain and full DPS Runes OR 13/13 with Resist Runes.
- If no Resist Runes, the 2 non-BiS items must be Infernal Gear
- Full DPS Sigil
- Full stacks of AMoP (150sp)
- Word of Pain Proc (60sp)
- 697 PA Levels
- 23sp Feast
- Heroic Brightsurge Vial
- Elder Tablet
- Pillaging Stonex5
- Internalize Charge/Sac Life: Damage
The following Raid Buffs Active:
- Flaring Power
- Bard Resonance
- Volcanic Bomb
- Crumbling Resistance
- Beastmaster Buff and Bite Debuff
- Clinging Spirits
- Wild Growth
Due to the 10sec ICD of AMoP, If you pre-trinket swap with Alsbeth's, then max SP from trinkets >30 seconds into the fight would be 205 and would last for 10 seconds then drop down to a max of 90sp until the 40 second mark. If Flaring Power is popped at 20 seconds, then there is a possibility of applying a 973 3x Combust Crit with less BiS gear, but this scenerio is VERY unlikely and would not be reliable to reproduce.

I actually messed up a little bit, because i forgot to set the base dmg from 5.3 (base 1 stack) to 16 (base 3 stacks)
SP came out to be 3187
Rank 50 Fireball ignites (combust) for a base damage of 48 over 8 seconds. 3 stacks is 144. 9 ticks = 16 base damage per tick
Consider the following formula:
Crit DMG = ((Base + (SP*SPCoeff) * (1+Buff%) * (1+Debuff%) * 1.5)
Combust has a Spellpower Coefficient of 5.9%.
I used all known buffs and debuffs available to the raid:
Buffs - 156.3%: Burning Bright (33.6%), Glyphs of Power (10%), Neddra's Influence (20.7%), Fire Armor (15%), Improved Mage Armor (10%), Dark Power (10%), Warlock Crystal (15%), Beastmaster Buff (7%), Volcanic Bomb (5%), Sac Life or Internalize Charge (10%), Flame Bolt (10%)
Debuffs - 24%: Crumbling Resistance (7%), Wild Growth (10%), Clinging Spirit (7%)
973 = ((16 + (SP*0.059)) * (1 + 1.563) * (1 + 0.24)) * 1.5)
SP = 3187
Correct me if I misplaced a buff/debuff or if one of them is multiplicative, but it seems pretty close to where it should be. I also got the sp coefficient from my char @ my base SP w/o any SP proc items.
Not sure if anyone is hitting that amount of SP in Raids atm, but it is still pretty high.

So people are saying again:
Don't use the Bluedots guide; Don't use macros; Don't clip the DoTs; Prioritze Combust, then DoTs, then Flame bolt spam if not needed for combust.
Use Spell Crit Pots if you can juggle them with Flaring Power and avoid/cancel Earthern Barage
ONE person says the build posted at Bluedot's is fine. Rest of the "top dogs" are mum on their builds.
If any of these summarized take aways are wrong please reply. Cause I'm sure others might be drawing the same poor conclusions.
The spec posted on bluedots.org is fine, but depending on the fight, you'd want Fiery Concentration instead of Burning Fury. You also have a free point to play with in Warlock. The actual guide portion posted on the site is exceedingly basic and just flat out lacking.
Don't use macros in this spec. Some people advocate an Opportunity proc macro, but since Cinder Burst isn't always the best use of the opp proc, it's just a waste.
The only correct defilemancer guide that I've seen so far is posted at www.addictguild.com in the mage forum. Regardless of the controversy surrounding one of Shaeyl's parses this last week, it is the only 38/28 guide worth reading. Thumbs up to Xano there too.
Crystal buff is multiplicative. Sac Life/IC is 20%, Neddra's Influence should be 72% (15% + 1.5*38?).
I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with your formula though cause if you use it for most people's max combust in a raid (approximately 650), the SP requirements are way too low. If I had to guess it would be your SP coefficient value. According to this thread (http://forums.riftgame.com/rift-gene...-modeling.html), it's 9%, which means it's 1% for each tick(?). I had similar results where approximately 100SP was a 1 damage increase on each tick.
Instead of modeling at 3 stacks of combust, you could just model it at 1 (straight divide by 3 your max combust hit) and use the 0.01 coefficient. Using that method, the SP values are a lot more believable in my eyes.
Buffs - 192.6%: Burning Bright (33.6%), Glyphs of Power (10%), Neddra's Influence (72%), Fire Armor (15%), Improved Mage Armor (10%), Dark Power (10%), Beastmaster Buff (7%), Volcanic Bomb (5%), Sac Life or Internalize Charge (20%), Flame Bolt (10%)
973 = Max Combust hit, 1.5 = Crit damage, 1.15 = Crystal buff, 3 = Making it one combust stack, 5 = base damage on one tick
(973)/(3)/(1.5)/(1.15) = ((5 + (SP*0.01)) * (1 + 1.926) * (1 + 0.24))
If someone wants to make it a ~prettier~ looking formula, feel free to.
Going to try to apply the same formula to this parse (http://www.riftlogs.net/fight-player...yer=Allakhazam) with a max combust hit of 783. Going to assume it's the 36/30 variant--the difference is very tiny in any case.
Buffs - 195.2%: Burning Bright (43.2%), Glyphs of Power (15%), Neddra's Influence (60%), Fire Armor (15%), Improved Mage Armor (10%), Dark Power (10%), Beastmaster Buff (7%), Volcanic Bomb (5%), Sac Life or Internalize Charge (20%), Flame Bolt (10%)
(783)/(3)/(1.5)/(1.4) = ((5 + (SP*0.01)) * (1 + 1.952) * (1 + 0.24))
Works out to be about 2895 SP. If you used your formula, even with updated values, the SP needed would be too low.
Testing out on the dummy without raid buffs/debuffs.
Buffs - 180.6%: Burning Bright (33.6%), Glyphs of Power (10%), Neddra's Influence (72%), Fire Armor (15%), Improved Mage Armor (10%), Dark Power (10%), Sac Life or Internalize Charge (20%), Flame Bolt (10%)
I got 389 as my max hit.
(389)/(3)/(1.5)/(1.15) = ((5 + (SP*0.01)) * (1 + 1.806))
My formula gave me an SP value needed of 2178; my SP is 2191. I lowered my SP to 1125, and my formula says I should have a max hit of about 236. My max hit was 235. I believe it's fairly accurate. Feel free to test it out and see if I did anything wrong or if at any SP values it's grossly wrong.
According to my maths, either Shaely reached an SP value of ~4682 OR... He's getting the Pyro crystal bonus and reached a max SP value of ~3200.
