I recommend looking up some pvp guides for mages to help you out. My mage kicks *** in pvp even without being p8. Its a blast and my survivability is quite high. Mage requires a lot large amount of situational awarness cause of being squishy though.

However if you are unsubbing because you are dieing a lot warfronts...in a nut shell no one is going to miss you from their teams. Sorry you feel that way.

I was shocked to see this thread title...

Before 1.7 I was trying my best to find something to reroll and play instead of my mage...

Now I actually am enjoying it in pvp... weird. I'm honestly not even aware of what the changes were for pvp/mages in pvp... it just seems like I don't get 2 shot constantly now, heh. :P

If I cancel my sub it will be a result of being consistently frustrated and disappointed with the general community of the game, not the game itself. Threads like this aren't helping.

Pretty much what someone above said:

PVE: No

PVP: Quit a long time ago... Chlorolock is even more tanky now like unkillable clerics but we have no burst in 51 specs due to the loss of the AM tree. Also being a hardcore PVEer I'm not spending my PA in the PvP tree until I have filled all 6 elements to full PA t2 (which is a while to go) so thats a self nerf of sort.

Bad troll is still a troll ;p Mages are fine in Pve and well from what I have heard for the most part are fine in Pvp and ya know what.. this game is a PVE game, if your relying strictly on pvp .. maybe try a game that is actually tailored for PvP /shrug Stop whining! and the sky is defiantly NOT falling.

51 Dom/15 Pyro (flicker and reductions)
44 SC / 22 Dom ( SS/RS/Ice Shear/ Icicle/lightning burst)
Pyro/Dom is still fairly viable, but moreso in 1v1 situations.

Don't know where this not viable in PvE / PvP comes from though. Class is fine. You should be complaining how crap gear got buffed above t4 gear.

Then why was the last patch almost entirely pvp? People who only pve are funny.
