More Itemization fun

Uncorrupted Ancient Life Wand was made Antiquated, the new wand drops from the same boss with presumably the same drop rate, with better stats. I fail to understand why I have to rerun an instance I ran 20+ times, to get this same wand so I have the new updated version with the improved stats. Can't I do an exchange or something? Any consideration is appreciated, thank you.

So yea, they want us to rerun content to get the same item we already spend hours and hours getting.

I actually got a different, albeit slightly, repsonse:

The Uncorrupted Ancient Life Wand is currently the best wand available for Chloromancers, yet it drops from Ragnoth the Despoiler in Iron Tombs.

I spent many, many hours running that dungeon when the wand was first released. Since the patch I have discovered there is a new version of it with improved stats, yet I have been given an Antiquated Uncorrupted Ancient Life Wand which has inferior stats.

I can understand why the 'Antiquated' class of items exists, to prevent players who were previously in T1s from being completely raid-ready without doing any T2s.

But surely this is an absurd restriction to place upon an item that many of the game's very best players has purposefully hunted for.

I am very frustrated that now I may have to run Iron Tombs possibly dozens of times before I can get my Best in Slot wand back. It's ridiculous it drops from there in the first place and would be very appreciative if my wand, and everyone else who worked so hard for it gets it upgraded.

Perhaps they've gotten enough complaints to look at it.
Hopefully, and if that's the case then more complaints are a good thing so get everyone onto it.

Really glad to hear they didn't take the wand out of the game but offered a more upgraded version. I do understand OP's complaints though, if this happened with any other item people would be furious.

whats funny is that our clerics and chloros wont take akylios relic wands because of that IT drop. makes sense to me. *thumbs up to the devs*

But they didn't take it out of the game. They added a better one so we all have to go farm it again.

Kervik said to take it to the PTS forum, there is a stickied itemization thread there as well. The more mages we get to make a stink about it there (and everywhere really) the sooner we'll get it looked at/answered.

Nope but neither does alot of stuff revolving around mages especially mainly their spec options for raids.

I just posted in the itemization thread for 1.7, but recently he did say that mage relics are being re-evaluated so I think we'll be okay.

Apparently they will stack with each other, but not with themselves.

Oh joys, time to get the other mages in guild relic staves so I go for MH/OH uncontested-ish...

Guess I'll be waiting on the PTS with bated breath.

If this is all accurate then the best setup will be 4 Word of Pain and 4 Darkling Skulls in each raid.

It already is technically, but just a self-proc and not a group proc.

tbh I'd rather see the AoE group proc phased out as its horrifically unbalancing for itemization.
