    Default Drakenguard

So, today I was bored and decided to make a new soul. Introducing the Drakenguard.

The Drakenguard is a soul who has been blessed with the might of the dragons. In thanks of the ascended who defended normal dragons when the Rifts first opened, the Dragon's have bestowed their blessing on worthy ascended.

This is the melee DPS soul of the Mage. It is a melee fighter who uses the dragon's power to imbue their strikes with elemental forces. (Fire Strike, Ice Touch, Lightning Pulse) This mage specializes in front cone attacks. (Fire Breath, Ice Wave, Acid Breath) It dabbles in Fire, Water, Air, and Life damage.

The main mechanic is called Dragon Rage, which increases damage dramatically. It is gained through breath and melee attacks, and only works on breath and melee attacks. I believe it balances itself out, due to the high buff this brings into the soul, using AoE attacks will be devastating, but using them too much will drain you of your rage very fast.

Overpowered soul? Who can say. I was just really bored. As a side note, bolded text are abilities.

I forgot to mention, while the Drakenguard's attacks are naturally weaker than other DPS, it increases it damage through it's mechanic and a lot of it's attack has debuffing effects. *Damn edit timer*

Sounds cool, i love dragons ;)

But i still don't get why people want a Melee class for mage and/or a healing class for Warriors...
It just does not fit ;)

Mages can always harness their magical power into physical form, like a battle mage of sorts. Warriors... I have no clue, I haven't thought about it too much.

Thanks for the support. Have other ideas for the other callings. A real support class for the Clerics (Chanter) and maybe another MDPS for Rogues (Ninja).

Looks fantastic! I have wanted one of these since my days in D+D. I really enjoy the dynamic of battlemage.

Looks great, would be a fun addition.

And to those saying "mages cant melee dps and warriors cant heal" anything is possible.

Why cant we be enchanting our staff with FIRE and smashing some faces?

    Sounds fun no?

There is something bad-as$ about robes, magic and a two-hander.

I would have said dual-wielding magic-infused blades would be awesome, but that's pretty much a nightblade /sadface

Sounds like with decent gear it's going to be permanently rage-starved, but that's a balancing issue, not a conceptual one.

Overall it sounds pretty cool, great job

I still want a tanking soul first though.

OMG yes it does. Melee mages are some of the most awesome classes in mmos. The Valewalker from DAoC, the Dervish from GW, Herald of Xotli from AoC, and to some extent, a properly specced Loremaster from Lotro? Pure awesomesauce.
