If you think this is not a nerf to overall Chloro heals with a huge mechanic change for tank heals, go parse on PTS. It is. Overall healing is down and tank heals are MORE "one button" than ever.
If you think you wont be chain casting your ******ed longcast direct heal trying to get through a 5 man without dead tanks (just like a Cleric but without the helpful cooldowns), again I recommend you go try it on PTS.
If you want your guild to carry you through raids pretending to be some dps/hybrid "ae heals" thats fine. Enjoy it and thank them and the clerics and dps who will be carrying you.
I have given my feedback and I hope they make some adjustments before this goes live. I play Rift to play with friends but enough already.
Yea I just read it after posting that... hmm.. i like Chloro because i'm not playing whack a mole and only need to worry about direct healing for emergencies. My biggest dislike for Chloro is that if something dies before my cast lands, it does no healing (which is fine, i just tab to a higher hp mob but still, its not "ideal"). Other than that, its more fun than just spamming single-target heals on the tank. I see we are being given then option to do both now, but the nerf to Synthesis is unfortunate.
Leveling in dungeons as chloro is a joke - no idea how it is as 50 to solo heal but I never need any support healing in Chloro's current state (whereas i see Clerics sometimes struggling due to lack of AoE heals and probably <infinite mana). I hope it doesn't happen before i hit 50, lol.
One option, is to continue to play Chloro/Lock as a support, back up healer using LGV.
Just refuse to main heal, and it will not as painful.

If you refuse to main heal expect to be DPS unless you are a (the) raiding Archon.
5 man content was all just nerfed to not need backup heals, so this is basically asking your group to carry you to support your preferred playstyle.
Not bashing you, just saying that given the current state of Rift people dont run support much.
I wouldnt even consider a clorolock off heal spec support to begin with. Now your not filling either role really. The whole thing is depressing.
