    Default Cholro/Ele ..good combo?

hey there all...I have never been much of a healer type person but the idea of Chloro/Elementalist appealed to me due to the self heals and the better tanking ability of the Elementalist pet as opposed to the necro pet. Has anyone done this combo, and if so how has it worked out for you in higher lvls? thx

Great combo for elites. You can kill almost anything by your lonesome.
In dungeons, it's a good off-healing specs that can still generate some DPS with the pets (air pet does around 125-150).

If you like using pets, and want to do some healing, it's a great build.

Yes I've used this combo as my solo build all the way up to 50. You can take on practically anything, it's kind of ridiculous. It's not super flashy as far as dps goes, but the overpowered survivability more than makes up for that imo.

Better than good. As the others say you can pretty much kill anything, elites included, you're liable to come across, plus death will pretty much be a thing of the past. Killing is relatively quick as well and I can take on several even con mobs without batting an eye.

I leveled to 50 with that build and it makes things really easy for the most part. Once you get high leveled (35+) you may start to nod off while tackling large groups of mobs (4-5) because it is so easy. The last few levels I had a macro I made that put the game on easy mode (basically just heal spamming with my pet pulling all the aggro) and just read news on another monitor while you finish up your quests.

The only thing I'm finding it not really good for is 1v1 PVP. I'm sure I'm just lousy at that, but my DPS seems to be horrid. If you don't mind grinding things to death it's ok, but it seems other mage builds pack a much heavier punch.

I love this build in group situations or when doing PVE. Solo PVP? Not so much.

Would one of you be awesome and post a link to a build? I absolutely LOVE Chloro, and have been wondering if there was a way to implement it into an efficient solo build for those times when NecroLock just get boring.

    Thanks in advance!

What you want is 21 points into Elementalist for greater pet and then just spec Chloromancer as usual
Here is how it can look like at 28 http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1z_Rq..VdIzo.Vthz0xo
You then want to go for Natural Fusion for more pet heals and Living Shell for never having mana problem again in the Chloromancer tree.
Took down elite mobs my own level with this. But the dps output is lower than what other builds can do.

You know, since everyone is coming to the conclusion elem is a stronger 2nd soul then lock for dps.
It would also make sense the chloro/elem might be stronger for healing as well.

(although opportunity is really op with chloro's big heal times. And instant heals is more important then instant nukes)

The Chloro in my Guild said he goes Warlock as secondary because of the CD's, not the DPS. Maybe he's wrong, though, but he usually knows his stuff.

Popular thread today and in game. I am currently in game looking at this very spec. It looks fun and I dont have to be the main healer but can heal folks. Thanks for the build link and please feel free to post higher lvl builds for the other tiers. I am lvl 28 atm and primarily do WF. I love to pvp. So I am going to give it a shot.

/edit I see that this is more of a pve spec. Anyone have a good build for WF?

I have been essentially using the build this guy recommends for raid dps/healing:

    http://www.riftjunkies.com/forums/sh...romancer-Guide

However, when soloing I swap out Dominator for Elementalist for the earth elemental pet. Buff him up with Synthesis and he is a near-unstoppable adventure companion.

    hope this helps:

SOLO Final Build: 42 Elementalist 24 Chloromancer

    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1z...MxkA0z.xdIzoVc

    Now how we get there:

1.) Take Elementalist first to have the pet to clear up the first two areas untill you can get Chloromancer. The Lightning Strike will take down things alot faster then Vile Spores.

2.) Take Dominator as your third soul but leave it at zero points. The Transmorph is very useful early on and in Iron Tomb.

3.) You need to get to 16 points in Chloromancer asap so that you can get Flourish, Synthesis and Nature's Touch.

    - This will allow you to AoE farm the hell out of things alot easier then a Necromancer build imho and still allow you to do Iron Tomb with a group and be an asset without having to respec or buy another soul.

    - You need to save your points till you get Chloromancer at your second Soul choice in the tudoral. Use these points right away in Natural Awareness so the +5 intelligence benfits both your Elemental and Chloromancer spells.

    - Always keep Chloromancer to level and use the extra points in Elementalist. Your pet is not there to do damage, you are! So put those extra points into Biting Cold and NOT Velocity for now. After that take 1 point into Ice Shield then Elemental Link. Remember we are trying to make you your very own tank!

    - The 16 points into Chloromancer are: Natural Awareness 5. Bloom 1, Healing Stream 2, Empowered Veil 3, Nature's Corrosion 3, Synthesis 1, Nature's Touch 1.

    - You will now leave Chloromancer alone for now.

4.) Now we need to work on Elementalist! This is where you will be spending the rest of your points.

    - Keep pumping points into Elementalist to get it to level. Work your way through the 3rd and 4th tiers before filling in the 1st two tiers. Remember we are on a B-line for Greater Elemental Affinity and Fiery Assault.

    - Once you get Elementalist to level make sure your extra, every third level, points goes back into Chloromancer. Call of Spring 5, Natural Fusion 3. This will round out your tank Heals for your Pet Tank.

    - Lastly fill out the rest of the build. Your play style will tell you what you need the most and when you need it. REMEMBER THERE IS NO SET RIGHT OR WRONG BUILD.

With this build I can usually round up 4 to 5 (same level non-elite) mobs and hold decent aggro with my Pet by twisting my pet attacks from mob to mob. I then drop Burning Ground then channel Fiery Assault.

Make sure you have Synthesis on your pet and Lifegiving Veil up at all times. Make sure you use your Elementaist spells for dps they are waaaay better then the Chloromancers. If my pet is taking heavy damage a quick Ruin-Nature's Touch Combo brings them back to full then right back to Ignite, Crystalline Missles, Lightning Strike. If you get into a pinch you still have Bloom and Flourish at your disposal.
