New Soul in Storm Legion

well it seems like most of us really have no idea what they will do. Lets hear some more ideas folks.

I do hope they fix our current souls and give us a separate, new soul instead of leaving the current souls more or less how they are and giving us a 'new' soul that 'fixes' issues in our current souls.

Regardless of the new soul, its going to be nerfed into the floor, because its a cleric soul.

AOE dot spec with a pet along the lines of the daoc cabalist would be interesting.

Pet classes need to go diaf until/if they fix pet scaling.

In my opinion:

Cleric tank......perfect....dont screw with it. It is so well balanced that another tank soul could only possibly screw it up.


Healing.....perfect with amazing flexibility and variety....dont screw it up.

Dps...low...but a nice variety of ranged and melee...st and aoe. Just fix the scaling, remove rng from brutalize for shaman and make it 100% equally competitive.

So whats left?

A soul that provides more synergy with our melee souls and adds some pvp viability. Put spell power on our shields and give us a spec that can go toe to toe with warriors and melee rogues with some utility.

I found an E3 preview of the storm legion expansion, and i noticed some unfamiliar looking cleric abilities on the characters skill bar. Here is a link to the video.

I have no idea if these abilities are from the cleric's new soul, but if they are it might give us a few clues as to what the new soul will be. He casts an ability a few times during the boss fight, which starts at 2mins 30 in the video, and the name of the ability is shown on the cast bar. I cant quite make out the name of it on my screen, but it looks to me like it is called 'bolt of retribution', if any1 else can see it clearer then let us know
If it is called bolt of retribution then, as far as i am aware, that is a new ability!

Having said that, i dont even know if the new souls have been made/confirmed yet, so this might be completely irrelivant, but i thought i might aswell share what i found =P

The only "Bolts" Inquisitors have right now is Bolt of Judgement and Bolt of Depravity. Justicars have a Bolt of Radiance.


So it is a new ability, if it is a new Soul ability or a new Inquiistor ability I don't know.

Yeah, bolt of radiance is an instant cast so it definatly isnt that, bolt of depravity has a much longer cast time, there is a possibility that it is bolt of judgement and has just been re-named, who knows. There are also a bunch of other ability icons which i dont recognise, some of them might be from the same soul.

Possibly, has it been confirmed that they are letting us spend extra points in 1 tree?

Also, normally the higher up a tree you go, the more cooldowns etc you get, but this spell looks pretty spammable i.e. from the bottom of a tree. Hopefully its from the bottom of our new tree, which would mean our new soul is ranged dps! *crosses fingers*

We give away some pretty juicy tidbits if you pay enough attention to what Mike is doing when he has his UI up in that video. Watching it again though, it does point out a bug I need to go fix.
