Asphodel's Primal Becon vs. Soulpyre

Been having an argument with someone in my guild and thought i would bring this to the forums. I believe personally that Asphodel's Primal Becon is a better ranged dps weapon for clerics then soulpyre. Lets look at the numbers.

Asphodels Ability
Grants a chance with damaging abilitys to grant an additonal 150 Spell Power for 15 seconds.
((This ability procs to the point where it never comes off in a fight, i've proven this with multiple parse and HK boss fights, it just never ends))

Now for the numbers((Soulypyre as the base))

So my argument is 150 spellpower from the ability is worth more then the diffrence in stats on soulpyre. The int to spellcrit ratio almost nullifies it, and 9 wis 3.2 dps and 70 spellpower is not better then 150 spellpower. The ability is consist and never falls off, so with the constant proc rate, beacon is better.

Please give me some of your insight on this.

You may also want to factor in how easy it is to get the appropriate PA efficiently maxed. If you potentially switch to a MH/OH for heals, then it would likely be easier to efficiently manage your PA via hammer/mace mastery hexes without having to also spec into staff PA.

I would argue it balances against your stat itemization for crit due to the loss of crit from ID gear.

Well the ability takes into effect all crits from your spells, including vex, Sh, and also the crit from your dot on Bolt of Depravity. Even with the ID crit loss, you crit multiple times within 15 seconds, triggering the high proc rate easily.

I use beacon for DPSing and -icars, soulpyre for 51 puri. As long as you are DPSing, stick with the beacon unless focus is an issue.

exactly this. Beacon is the best choice until you get a HK relic for dps.

Idd. I believe there was another thread on this a while back, where it was decided that even Bane of Madness is only a slight upgrade on APB. Ofc I can't find it now, clearly I need more tea.

I think the proc on the APB is just to great to give up.

Beacon can parse higher than the HK relic. But rng is rng
