Yes, when you have MoL on over healing just essentially counts as healing for threat purposes.

ok, thinking a little longer term... once I get this 5-man thing figgured out, should I save up for the HK raid items or the t1 raid set (Thorvin's Gear I think it's called)

Obviously I can get Thorvin's quicker due to getting 3 Marks per run (in addition to being able to get pieces of blighted from ISS's at the epic vendor), but I only need two pieces of HK to get the same crystal bonus.

I would recommend doing whatever you can to get Marks (get your focus to 200 and get in on DH/GP/GSB/ROS) in order to get your 4 piece set, and then switch to GMoA from HK and ID, but take all IMoA from your bonus randoms and quests.

It is really more of a personal preference though.

I would say don't bother with ID marks at all until you have the 4 piece from GMOA. Those bonuses are a significant change in effectiveness.

You can get the GMOA pieces with the marks you get out of HK and RoTP . . . just leave one of the 50 pieces (say gloves) for the ID marks so that the gloves will have a good focus/hit boost on them. Even if you only go 4 in to HK and 2 in to RoTP each week your'e still getting 21 GMOA with no bonus.

So GMOA Boots, GMOA Belt, GMOA Helmet, IMOA Gloves . . . You'd probably get your IMOA Gloves right around the time of the GMOA helmet so you'll have a nice huge jump in stats.

Plus, the ID piece will count toward your 4 piece anyway.

But, like i said originally... the gear up method is really more of a personal preference.

sorry to keep bugging you all with my newbishness...

For planar essences, should I always get the +wis one, or are the +str/+block ones still better?

well I will likely be buying them for ISS from the planar vendors, so I get to pick. I was wondering if there were any that were "too good to pass up"...

I have to say, disregarding any numerical values, I have been tanking on a cleric since launch (and going through our many changes while tanking all twenty and ten mans during progression) and I simply believe Even Justice currently puts more threat on enemies than Doctrine of Loyalty. With five or less targets, I have never had anyone pull off me while using Even Justice, opposed to DoL spam, where I have.

With more than five targets, using DoL and Doctrine of Authority is a must, simply because Even Justice only hits five targets. To maintain threat on more than five requires an ability that builds threat on all of them. In this situation I would alternate among the three.

This is only anecdotal evidence, but it's simply how I do things. It works best for me to conserve my Doctrines for when the group needs them, or for building threat on faraway mobs. Of course there are situations where DoL is the best choice for building aggro, however, this isn't because I believe it builds the most aggro out of all our AoE threat building abilities, but because the mobs are out of range or I can't hit them for some other reason.

well, I know people used to pull off me left and freakin right with Even Justice spam, so I will test out with DoL spam and see how that goes.
