    Default Cleanse macro

I recently came back to the game and I'm trying to figure out, whats the difference between a:

cleanse @mouseoverui macro vs something like

    #show Cleansing Waters
    stopcasting
    cast @mouseoverui Cleansing Waters
    cast @group01 Cleansing Waters
    cast @group02 Cleansing Waters
    ...

    What are the benefits/disadvantages ?

having the @group in there means that if you have not got your mouse over a player or the player you are over has nothing to clense it will look down the list of members till it finds a debuff and clenses it, think of it like an "auto-clense".
also having the "stopcasting" basically breaks any cast you are doing and immedietly casts the clense so you wont waste time finishing your current action

this macro is great for clense heavy fights like General Silgen in ROTP but i cant help feeling like im either cheating or being lazy whilst using it

Never seen this command before...so I'm assuming it goes all the way to @group20?

Yes it goes up to @group 20.

To the OP, don't forget to put suppressmacrofailures under #show insert spell here to avoid spam messages galore.

Also I like to put cast @self before @mouseoverui, can't cleanse if we're dead!

yes it does go to 20 or to what ever number you like for example if you have 2 people to look after the clensing you can have 1 person to @group1 - @group10 and the other use @group11 - @group20 and you can even reverse the numbers if you wanted to clense the other way

the only disadvantage is doesnt matter what the debuff is, if the macro sees it, it will clense it (providing it is clensable if not it will move on to the next) so this makes clensing specifics harder for example:

target A has a time bomb that will explode in 3 seconds and target B has an attack/sp reduction for 8 seconds. if Target B was in group 1 of the raid and target A in group 2 then Target B will get clensed first leaving Target A to possibly explode.

this is where the @mouseover comes in so you can mouse over target A so that it clenses that first before searching the groups for a clensable target.

First time I saw this macro was for the third boss in ROTP. There is a warden, sent and chloro version.

Damn I didn't think of the stop cast line!! brilliant more dps on General, HOORAY!!

If there are two of you running it on Sicaron, have one of you write it backwards so you cleanse from grp four to one. Less chance of ppl in grp four not getting their cleanse in time that way.

Also, AFAIK you need to have an add-on installed for @group to work. Any add-on. Guess it's part of the general add-on library.

That is a pretty slick way of cleansing, thanks for the forum info.

Other than Silgen, this macro will prolly go the way of the dodo once AoE cleanses get a little smarter in 1.8, until then..this macro is just hilariously lazy, and I love it.

Yo all. Nublet cleric here. Keeping it real chapelle style yo.

Cleansing is really annoying to me. There are all kinds of dumb things which show in raid window that can't be cleansed, and the raid window is too small to easily see what color the border of the debuff is. I really wish they would make it so you have an option to only see things which require cleansing. I really don't give a damn if my raid has cool down from warlord or puri shields. It makes it annoying to cleanse when you are learning new fights. Anyway..

I run the silgen cleansing @group macro with stopcasting for stuff like silgen or molinar. I like the suggestion to reverse the order of the cleanses and start at 20 and work your way to 1. How would that effect a 10 man though; would it just skip from #20 to #10?

Also if you run a build with single and aoe cleanse, would it be useful to add the aoe cleanse to the spam @group macro? I've heard clerics in mumble say it only has 15 range, but i don't think the tooltip lists a range... I could be wrong. In fact.. I think a lot of tooltips are missing info recently. Jolt is ogcd but no longer states as such.... Along with many other abilities.

It's really awesome that you don't even have to pay attention and can just spam cleans and have the game play for you.

That is correct. If you don't have an addon you will get all sorts of errors to your General chat and the macro won't do squat.
