Ok this is kind of a silly question but... what are sozu spec? Call me dumb but I haven't been back in the game that long after taking a break for a few months or so. Great guide though, I'll have to play around with things because my build(s) is done differently than the builds for the rng/sin/mm and rng/mm/bd

That didn't really happen. He didn't call it Sozu Ranger. His thread was called Sozu's PvE Ranger Guide. People started to call it Sozu Ranger.

Single target rotation:

Spike x5 > Detonate(use anihilation bomb instead of detonate if it is up) > Caltrops charge x1 > Macro x3 (carpet bomb > anihilation bombx4 if it is up) *repeat*

AoE Rotation:

Caltrops x5 > Detonate(use anihilation bomb instead of detonate if it is up) > Shrapnel charge x1 > Macro x3 (carpet bomb > anihilation bombx4 if it is up) *repeat*


Here's my rotation for sab. Ended up doing about 3800 single target. Curious what other people do differently.

I have a question, though I'm not sure why I'm finding myself confused...maybe I'm just comprehending things wrong.
I prefer MM and would like to use the 51marksman / 14 ranger guide / 1 riftstalker listed in 1.4.3 once I get one more piece of Blighted gear (currently 3/4).

The guides states

4 piece blighted ranger crystal -> HK 2 piece ranger crystal -> 4 piece HK marksman crystal

then

Ranger crystal doesn't compare, it will have you energy starved w/o a tablet, and the same build and concept of the rotation runs 200-300dps lower.

I'm reading the first quoted text as 4 piece blighted ranger crystal is what I need to be using, but then he states the Ranger crystal doesn't compare.

So my question is, which crystal will be best for me? I'm having trouble deciding because Shadow Fire AND Empowered Shot are both in the rotations.

Ranger crystal is best until you get the marksman 4 piece.

At this point for range dps though you are best using 51 ranger.

I also have a Ranger build, but I prefer MM and the group I sometimes run with do not want us using pets on a lot of boss fights as we learn them. I'll surely be getting the Ranger crystal for my Ranger set, but I was going to purchase the MM as well if it was more beneficial for the build I was referring to.

dose anyone have any good macros for this build. nb/rs build: popular pvp build in that it combines the heal debuff from nightblade with the gap closers and durability of the riftstalker soul.

That would only be if your bow is better right?

If you have HK 2 piece you should have T1r 4 piece. If so keep using the t1r until you get HK 3 piece. If you do this then it depends on your weapon. Example get HK level melee weapons first (which is VERY likely) BS is higher. Have a t1r relic bow and no HK or relic melee weapons ranger. Since I was not planning on dropping my t1r 4 piece until I had the 3 piece I waited to see what weapons I had. I had HK blades so went with the sin crystal first.

If I am off Z just let me know but that is how things worked out for me.

Reading it wrong.

The best synergy crystal to use with marksman is the marksman crystal. The highest ranged dps output is ranger with sab close behind it.

Ranged
Ranger > sab > marksman(mm crystal 4pc) > marksman(ranger crystal 2pc) > marksman(mm crystal 2pc)

Melee
Riftstalker/Assasin > blade dancer(played perfectly) > nightblade > bladedancer(played poor-average)

That is for the dps. Different fights have different mechanics. Some specs deal with situations and mechanics better than others. Sab and ranger will get you by for most situations though.

Yeah for the most part you can grab the macros out of the solo/grind spec in 1.2. Most of those buttons should work.

EDIT: Just remove any skills you don't have yet from the macros and add them as you get them.
