So i've started messing around with this spec in an attempt to put out the max dmg. I can on fights that require next to no movement. So i admit I probably have not perfected it as much as the spec I play 99% of the time which is Inquisitor.

That said I was on PTS today and decided to do some dummy parses in the placeholder ID gear. Now on live it is obvious that this spec parses higher than my inquis spec. However, on PTS it felt like Inquisitor caught up to this spec with higher SP.

Again it's possible it's just due to me being able to do inquis in my sleep vs this spec being newer that i'm seeing varying results so figured i'd come here and see what others are seeing. Thoughts?

joltnbolt still beats 51inquis in full ID gear fairly easily, not much changes. Possibly you arent playing the jolt spec as efficiently as you could be, or maybe you were using a spec without clinging spirit in it and didnt account for missing the 7% dmg debuff when comparing to 51inquis on the dummy.

I did actually account for the 7% diff. but as i said still new to the spec. so my parses could be lower due to the spec being new to me. Thanks for clearing that up for me will have to work on perfecting this spec more before ID drops.

Missing relic chest, using a pvp trinket, and accidently leaving my sentinel crystal equipped I was able to get about 3900 DPS on Sicaron last night with this spec, my first time using it in a raid. Pretty happy with it. I wish that it was more viable to use on fights with movement but I'll definitely keep it as my fun/big numbers build for now.

I did end up macroing Lightning hammer and vex together though. I need to go back and look over parses but I feel this may be a DPS loss. The only reason I really did it was to save room on my bar and simplify rotation since they are almost identical in duration.

If you aren't running a 36 point spec (which still seems to be less DPS than 35) then you should only use SH to refresh dots. In this situation I agree with you that macroing SH, LH, and Vex together works. They have perfect fall off timers. You can reapply them all with one macro very quickly and go back to spam. This nicely compartmentalizes the spec. If you look at damage breakdowns BoJ spam, BoD procs, and LH dot uptime are the most important things. So clipping SH or vex a bit (or better yet letting them fall off) is not a DPS loss really.

In full relic with Bane (but no AMoP) I've done 4538 on sicaron while purging using the dot macro rather than individual application.

Last night I used this spec for first time on Sicaron. I was able to get a 4.1k parse with it so i'll def. keep it for fights that require little to no movement.

Gear wise I still need a few upgrades. Using Asphodel's Primal Beacon, T1 wand ><, need relic legs and chest, and perhaps another ring but that's a minor upgrade. I'm also sitting at 316 PA so got more sp to gain in that area.

Unless I'm missing something. There are currently no gear vendors on the PTS for any free gear...that is unless they havent been spawned since the patch

Yep, exactly. Looking at my logs for Sicaron my BoJ average was 4670 while SH was 4487. So it's not worth (in a 35 inq spec) to us SH on CD. Just let the dot tick off then refresh all three in a row, SH, LH, Vex, then back to BoJ spam. The only thing I interrupt the dot reapplication for is a BoD proc which is all I use fanaticism on. BoD is king.

But does 35 actually parse higher than 36? From the little comparing I've done, 36 parses higher. Been wondering anyone has done any sserious testing for comparison

Managed 4037DPS Murdantix with 36/20/10 this week, next week i am going to bring in the ol' 35 and test it out, so far it seems that 36 is higher, but I also have gained a little gear since last testing it in a raid enviornment. I'll let you guys know.

Is it your max. DMG for each hit or max. DPS for each ability(BoJ/SH)?
If its max DMG, would'n SH then give more DPS, as its onBut cast time for SH is instant eg. 1s GCD = 4487 DPS. BoJ is 1,5s, eg. 4670/1,5 = 3113 DPS.

Anyway its rather easy to test. Make a macro
cast SH
cast BoJ

then spam and parse it for 2-3 min. and see the DPS.
Then spam only BoJ for the same duration and see the DPS.

(Btw. haven't tested it my self, so just asking )

SH is instant eg. 1s GCD

We are not mage or rogue, we have 1.5sec gcd .
