I just don't know why MMO's in general feel they have to nerf any build that becomes 'too' popular. I loved this spec, but its just good now, not great. I am fearing they are going to nerf my rogue next...

I like the ideas in this build, so I'll have a play about with point distribution (I couldn't go without a Battle Charge for one thing, and I find Ageless Ice + Purpose is plenty of mana regain so I'd rather repurpose the Endless Winter expenditure). Shamicar reloaded?
I'm going to miss shielding up, after vex-pulling a pack of mobs, firing RotN and unleashing the mother of all Soul Drains + Strike of the Maelstrom but hey ;)
Gear and power items in the cash shop was my dealbreaker. It was a fun 2 years.
Thanks for the idea about dropping Endless Winter. I am going to look at also getting Battle Charge back and picking up Ekkehard's Invocation to add in a Ranged Macro (since I didn't need that DOT macro). I was thinking along the lines of this:
RANGED
suppressmacrofailures
cast battle charge (if in range and not in CD)
cast sovereignty (longer ranged attack than battle charge and if it hits it will stun for 2 seconds to hopefully get me in range for battle charge)
cast bolt of radiance (if i'm out of range for battle charge and sovereignty is in cool down this will at least let me get some damage (if it's not also in CD) on them as I chase them down - thinking pvp here)
cast ekkehard's inovaction (instant with no CD)
I'm not too familar with ekkehard's invocation, so I will have to mess around with it.
The only other possiblity I can think of is putting points into Favored of the Valnir to extend out the lightning damage. Right now though I'm thinking about making this a little more rounded build with the additional ranged attacks as I close in.
Here it is. http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=00...M.Eezzt0shk.-5
I have found this build to do very well in PvE & PvP. I am using my Single Target, AOE, Ranged, and Healing macros and the buffs that I listed earlier in this thread.
If anyone finds something better or any good tweaks for this one please post it. Just remember that the Duracell build is a self-sufficient grinding machine. My build also puts out decent Reparation heals - in the Ember Isle Instant Adventures I was seeing 200-300 (500 burst) heals scrolling off of my raid members during AOE'ing.
Background info on my toon for your comparison:
Level 50 with 25,000+ in PA.
PA - War is max'd out.
PA - Fire 1st Tier max'd out and 2nd Tier to get Flaring Glyph & increased mounted speed.
PA - Air 1st Tier finished for Wisdom bonuses. Water 1st Tier almost complete for Wisdom.
Gear - 8 out of 12 slots have highest P40 gear (Heretic) w/ Heretic's Warhammer.
Finally, Planar Focus - Battlemaster with highest PvP Lessers, Crystal Vine Greater, & Metamorphic Stonesource Greater.
Well, have fun with the build. I know I am enjoying it and the Duracell build is NOT dead!
I'm testing out tossing a point into LMR so that I can use the higher damage Shaman no-CD skills and still have convictions out the ears. Ok, less salvation healing but I'm working on the principle that its easier to swap buffs or a sigil than an entire role if I find its not enough healing. So far, so good.
I'm experimenting with switching between 2 AoE macros. One with avalanche strike for 2-3 targets and one with even justice for more. It might not yield enough of a dps increase to make it worth it However. I also don't macro in rotn so I can be choosy about firing it off. Might macro one of the mana regens in and keep the other for unusual circumstances.
I absolutely do not macro battle charge. Being able to stay at range when needed and spam ekkehards (laff) is important to me to avoid unnecessary melee-hate moments.
My biggest overall loss has been no Purge. I got so used to having one... :-/

As I was paying more attention to the warrior changes in 1.8, anyone care to break down how the cleric changes made the 1.7 duracell build less effective?

The short version:
Avoidance got nerfed into the ground for the usual builds (changed how parry and dodge are derived for Devout Deflection), so you get hit loads more than before unless you spec a chunk further into Justicar.

You lose the gap closer and the auto-crit, otherwise plays about the same.
Stop freaking out.
Hello people,
I'm starting a new cleric, do you care to give me some tips on how to put point from lvl1?
Or, like suggested @ post #1, I should follow another build while I'm low level?
Thanks![]()
I just wanted to say thanks for your work on creating this update for the build. I've been using it for the last few days on my level 50 cleric who's in pretty mediocre gear and haven't noticed any issues. There still seems to be enough survivability for general questing, rifts, invasions, etc.
There's a blog that's not updated anymore, I can't find the link anymore, but search for Dulfycleric on Google and you should find it. He/she had a really good write-up post of how to level with this build, broken into sections of like every ten levels or so. I did it a couple of patches ago, so it may not be perfectly the same, but I would think it would give you enough info to fill in any questions you might have.Originally Posted by cultura82

That edit timer is really dumb. I did find the blog post I was talking about: http://dulfycleric.wordpress.com/201...eveling-guide/

Crit, Spell Power, Wisdom, Endurance in that order I'd say.
Crit because of Jolt. Although really you're gonna be AoE swinging a lot, so you'll be critting more often than Jolt is off CD in many instances. But when you want to do single target DPS, the crit is nice.
I run 44 Shaman, 22 Justicar, so I can queue as Support but maintain as high of DPS as I can. I don't use Even Justice right now, although I'm considering going back to a more even split and see just what the DPS out of Even Justice is compared to the Shaman stuff.
I'm P31 with split between Heretic and Retributer gear, using some purple PvE hammer with +74 focus and a +25 focus amulet (Fang of Murdantix) so I can hit stuff in Experts. I've got around 10K PA, all of it in War (so no help in PvE).
Arch General Velkhar, P50 Cleric
PvP Healing: Purifier, AoE Healer, Senticar, Ward/Sent
PvP Open World: Duracell-esque
Sorry, but there is much more utility able to be squeezed out of that without actually losing anything.
Refer to - THIS RIGHT HERE and you can see that losing the ST heal from Justicar for the OH SNAP heal is a much better selection.
Losing 5% phys damage, which is not affecting a good amount of your damage for increased Lightning Hammer and infinite mana, is a great tradeoff for the benefits.
Glacial Shield doesn't actually do anything for you. It breaks almost immediately against anything worthwhile and the GCD you used to pop it during a fight could have been better spent either healing or dealing damage whether in PvP or PvE.
Having Life's Vengeance from Sentinel increase range ability and gives an additional ranged Conviction builder. You can substitute Sentinel for Inquisitor to gain Sanction Heretic but you lose out on Healing Breath.
I personally would run stronger specs that this one but if you are dead set on Duracell, please feel free to make better use of the utility it can offer.
ODOMA!!!
