    @OP

I would go more heavily into one build, with a twist of something else, and make sure that the 2 callings compliment eachother,
That build will have way too many abilities, and you wouldn't be able to use half of them before the fight is over.

I would make something like this:

    Nightblade / Ranger

    This compliments eachother alot better.

Heavy melee, and a twist of ranger, with crippling shot, to slow fleeing enemies.

Cause ya' know, you will be beastly, so everyone will be fleeing ;)

And also, with this build you can start building your combo points, from a distance.

"Dusk to dawn" ability is a channeled ability, but will root your enemy in place, awards 1 combo, and 1 additional combo point per sec you channel! So if you get caught with your pants down, ( out of stealth and non to little combo points ) hit this thing, and you should be back in the fight in no time.

I see you're in Houston, that's awesome, that's where I live when I'm not working. How's good ole H-town, lately?
Lately isn't too bad, with unexpectedly cooler weather, which is quite a blessing. The job situation from where I stand is terrible. I'm a Microstation computer assisted drafter with all my experience in Texas Dept. of Highways, and NO jobs are coming from there, haven't been in three years. So I've been out of work that long, applying for other jobs out of my career but getting no response. I just gotta keep on keepin' on, as the song goes. Wish me good luck.

And thanks to you and everyone else for the responses to my two-soul build. I'll stop my whining and get into the true spirit of the process. (Trust the Process!) But I think due to the wiser folks that have posted earlier I'm going to make an Assassin/Ranger. I'll try it out on the character builder and see what I get. Never hurts to have long range attacks and a pet to help out.

One more question. Should I max out each skill that pops up on the skill tree before moving on to the others, or should I keep popping more and more skills and leave them at the bare minimum to get more skills, in order to have more skills but with a low level in each?

    Huzzah for TASC!

TBH most people will likely go some combo of Assassin/Riftstalker or Nightblade/Riftstalker. Nightblade is kinda cool cause you can pretty much max out all your Death abilities with 31 pts, leaving lots for the other class. Assassin seems to need more pts to get all the candy.

It depends on the cooldowns of the skills, which we don't know yet. If they have small cooldowns then you won't need that many skills since your rotation won't be able to incorporate all of them efficiency wise.

I'm glad the town is a tad cooler, I hope your job situation turns around for you!
It seems like riftstalker would be more for versatility and assassin straight dps. I like to be prepared for all occasions, so theres no telling how I might go.

That's a huge improvement over PAX in which it was level 15, I think. Good to hear! Thank you.

    Thanks, I hope so too.

Where are you folks getting the info on the other hero skills, like Riftstalker? I need to find out these things.

Well, information is kind of scattered all over the place....and Riftstalker is one of the souls we don't have a tree for =/

Here's some links that might help you though (I'm not sure if you've seen these or not):

    All things rogue: http://forums.riftgame.com/showthrea...cussion-Thread

    Classes Thus Far: http://forums.riftgame.com/showthrea...hlight=Classes

MMORPG.com Riftstalker release (in case you haven't seen it): http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/g...re/4716/page/1

    Some abilities and stuff: http://telarapedia.com/wiki/Riftstalker_abilities

I'm probably missing a few....hopefully that's enough to get you some more info though. And if you've read them, then you can ignore this post lol.

Quite a bit of things are speculation as well, especially as Riftstalker is the 'Tank' style of rogue it's likely to have reaction skills and cc, it's been touted as a avoidance tank with some absorb shields. Unless I'm mistaken, which I could be at this time of night.

My latest incarnation, the Assassin/Ranger. Also, I looked into just having the Assassin and pumping all 51 points into it. A one-trick pony, but quite a pony!

I was using the builder to basically boost up the damage of the core skills as much as possible. And it was looking like a 40pt build.

Yeah, but it might come down to getting an extra skill might be more beneficial than say spending a point to increase overall damage. All the skills you get might all be on cooldown, so adding another skill might be more efficient damage wise. Just a simple example.

Hmm It will be curious to see how the pet skills for ranger will end up working out, if one is able to sic the pet on another target to slow them and then use the Slip into the Shadows skill to get out of an unwinnable situation. Or just to stalk and pick off a group one by one, hmm *gears turning in head*

    *more gears turning*

http://www.riftrolebuilder.com/builder/?calling=rogue for duo'ing with another rogue, or ideally, a hit squad of five.

Not trying to act like I know alot more than everyone else here, but I have a little trouble understanding your builds :/

Like, in the ranger tree, you are 1 point away from a pet with no level restriction.

You are 2 points away from the hardest hitting finisher in the assassin tree.

Just think it would benefit you more to focus a little more on one of them, as I said in my earlier post, with a twist of something else.

I would say, either put 32 points in assassin, or move 1 point from assassin tree to ranger, so you atleast get the pet.

    buuut, it's a free world ;P

Anyway, we will get to see the "real" trees soon, then we can discuss more can't wait!
